Nade Damage / Chip:

Nade Damage, or chip, is small amounts of health loss caused by grenades in Counter-Strike 2, usually from HE explosive damage or the splash from utility used to force enemies out of position. It matters because even modest damage can change a fight by lowering an opponent’s survivability, making follow-up bullets or another piece of utility more likely to secure a kill. Teams often use chip damage to soften a defended angle before a push, deny space, or make a post-plant retake more difficult.

For example, a player holding a bombsite may survive a flash or smoke, but a well-placed HE grenade can chip away health before the duel, so the same rifle burst that would not have killed before now finishes the round.
