What Is Atakhan?

Atakhan is a jungle boss introduced in Season 14 to diversify late-game objective dynamics. Previously, there were two Atakhan types: Ruinous and Voracious. Ruinous spawned Blood Petals and granted buffs to jungle effects. Voracious provided false life, allowing players to survive risky, high-impact plays. These have now been replaced by a single form known as Thornbound Atakhan.

What Happens When You Defeat Thornbound Atakhan?

Defeating Thornbound Atakhan triggers three major effects:

• The team that lands the final blow gains all remaining Bloody Roses on the map, along with a bonus.
   
• All Bloody Petals^[1] are instantly converted into Spirit Petals^[2], which offer a 25% increase in power.
• Players receive the Spiritual Purification buff, which enhances combat significantly.
   

What Does the Spiritual Purification Buff Do?

The Spiritual Purification buff unleashes an AoE slow and damage pulse each time a player with the buff secures a takedown. This adds strong pressure in teamfights, punishing enemy teams that group too closely.

In addition, every takedown grants the team an extra Spirit Petal, adding even more value and potential scaling. This mechanic rewards aggressive playstyles and team coordination, especially in late-game brawls around major objectives.

Why Does the Atakhan Buff Matter?

Thornbound Atakhan introduces a layered objective that offers both immediate rewards and long-term advantages. Teams that plan around Atakhan not only gain map pressure but also increase their odds of winning extended fights due to the AoE effects and bonus scaling.
