In League of Legends, the "Nexus" refers to the central structure located within each team's base. It is the primary objective of the game and serves as the ultimate goal for both teams. The Nexus is heavily guarded by defensive turrets and inhibitors, structures that must be destroyed before the Nexus can be attacked.
The game ends when one team successfully destroys the enemy Nexus. This can be achieved by pushing through the enemy base, defeating their defensive structures and champions, and ultimately reaching and destroying the Nexus itself. Once a team's Nexus is destroyed, the game ends, and the victorious team is declared.
Protecting your team's Nexus is crucial, as losing it results in defeat. Teams must balance offense and defense, strategizing to attack the enemy Nexus while simultaneously defending their own. The Nexus serves as the focal point of every game of League of Legends, and its destruction marks the conclusion of the match. Therefore, it’s crucial to keep an eye on the map at all times.
Fortunately, it isn’t as though the enemy can just waltz into your base and destroy your Nexus, as that’s where the various towers on both sides of the map come into play. Before someone can destroy the enemy team’s nexus, whether it be you or the opposing team, their team must first destroy multiple towers and Inhibitors, giving both teams some breathing room and a chance to react.
