TTK means “time to kill,” the amount of time it takes to eliminate an opponent once damage begins.
In VALORANT, TTK matters because fights are often decided by how quickly a weapon, burst of abilities, or headshot combo can finish a target before they can react, heal, or get behind cover. Players use the term to compare weapons, judge how dangerous a peek is, and understand why landing the first accurate shots usually wins an exchange. A low-TTK weapon can end a duel very fast if the shooter hits cleanly, while a higher-TTK option may require more bullets and give the opponent time to trade back.
For example, if one player swings an angle with a Vandal and lands a fast headshot, the TTK is effectively very short, which is why the defender may have no chance to return fire.
