ARAM: What is ARAM in League of Legends?

aram

While about to start a League of Legends match, you might have seen the option to play ARAM instead of Summoner’s Rift and wondered what that even is. ARAM or ‘All Random All Mid’ is a supported PvP mode in LoL.

The basic concept of this mode is that five players from both teams will all be given a random champion (regardless of whether or not the player has unlocked the champion), and everyone will be thrown into the game where, instead of the usual top, middle, and bottom lanes, there will only be one middle lane.

What makes ARAM unique?

Aside from the lack of champion selection and traditional lane roles, ARAM’s map, the Howling Abyss, is completely different from the Rift. The map consists of a nexus, two nexus turrets, an inhibitor, an inhibitor turret, and an additional turret on each side. There are also two health per side, some bushes, and Poros (creatures that can be fed to make them bigger).

Players are not able to buy and sell items freely since they can only access the shop either at the start of the game (before moving your champion) or while waiting to respawn. Keep in mind builds that you might regularly use in other modes might not necessarily be as effective here.

Finally, players are given up to two rerolls they can use to get a different champion, and they can ONLY be used before the game starts. So if you don’t like the champion you get, you could simply reroll and get another random one. What to look out for in ARAM games?

In ARAM games in League of Legends, there are a few key things to look out for in order to be successful. First, it is important to make the most of the resources available on the lane, such as health packs and minions, in order to stay healthy and deal damage to the enemy team. Second, it is important to pay attention to the enemy team's composition and abilities, and to use your own abilities and tactics to counter them. Finally, it is important to communicate with your team mates and work together to achieve victory. By keeping these things in mind, you can increase your chances of success in ARAM games.

Can you play ranked in ARAM?

No, ranked play is not available in the ARAM game mode in League of Legends. ARAM games are meant to be a fun, casual alternative to the more competitive ranked play, and as such, they do not offer the same level of challenge or rewards. If you want to play in a ranked game, you will need to choose one of the other game modes, such as Summoner's Rift or Twisted Treeline. In ranked play, you will have the opportunity to compete against other players at your skill level and earn rewards based on your performance.

Can you select a champion in ARAM?

Not really. While you can technically re-roll your champion, in the ARAM game mode in League of Legends, players are not able to select their own champions. Instead, champions are randomly assigned to players at the beginning of the game, and all players on each team will have different champions. This adds an element of chance and unpredictability to the game, and it requires players to adapt to different playstyles and strategies in order to succeed. While some players may be disappointed that they cannot play their preferred champion in ARAM games, the random champion selection can also be seen as a fun and exciting challenge.
