Groot, the sentient tree from Guardians of the Galaxy, is a vanguard character in Marvel Rivals ^[1] who excels at controlling space and protecting his allies. His abilities revolve around nature-based attacks, walls for crowd control, and powerful support options, making him a defensive powerhouse.

All Groot Abilities in Marvel Rivals

Groot’s playstyle in Marvel Rivals is somewhat similar to Orisa from Overwatch 2, as he can create barriers, disrupt enemies, and absorb damage for his team. His Ironwood Wall and Thornlash Wall provide battlefield control, while his Strangling Prison ultimate can trap multiple foes, setting up huge plays for his team.

Normal Attack

• Vine Strike – Uses extending vines to lash out and damage enemies.

• Spore Bomb – Throws an explosive projectile that scatters into multiple smaller spores, dealing damage in an area.
