Classic:

The Classic is VALORANT’s default sidearm pistol, available at the start of every round and whenever a player does not buy a different sidearm. It is the game’s baseline backup weapon, valued for its low cost, quick draw, and flexibility at close range.

It matters because every player can fall back on it, even after spending all credits on abilities or a primary weapon. The Classic can be used for economical rounds, forced buys, and as a last-resort weapon in close fights. It also has a burst-fire alternate mode, which gives it a different role than most other pistols: the same weapon can be used for precise single shots or a short, fast burst when dueling nearby opponents. For example, after a player loses their rifle in a round, they may still win a close corner fight by swapping to the Classic and bursting an enemy at short range.
