Inting: What is inting in online games?

Inting in online games is when a player deliberately dies to the enemy team on purpose. This can happen in games like League of Legends ^[1], Valorant ^[2], and other competitive online games. Unlike making mistakes or having a bad game, inting is a conscious decision to lose. The full form of inting is “intentional feeding,” though many don’t know this.

Players who int often run straight into enemies without fighting back. They might also make reckless plays that have no chance of success. This makes it easy for the opposing team to get kills and gain an advantage.

Why do players usually int?

Inting is usually done out of frustration, trolling, or even as revenge against teammates. Some players int because they are angry at their team, while others do it just to ruin the game for everyone. In ranked matches, this can be especially frustrating.

Since inting ruins the experience for others, most online games have systems to detect and punish it. Players who int too often can get reported, banned, or face temporary suspensions. Some games even have automatic systems that detect unusual deaths and suspicious behavior.

While inting is different from simply playing poorly, it is still one of the most toxic behaviors in online games. It can turn a fun match into a frustrating experience for everyone involved.
