What are the best settings in CS2 for FPS

What settings should you change in CS2?

CS2 offers various settings options, ranging from something as big as the game's resolution to a mixture of small stuff in advanced settings.

Resolution:

Let's get the big ones out of the way first. You will need to decrease your resolution. Most of you will run the game at 1920x1080(or 1080p), so you need to lower it to something that increases framerate while not looking bad.

Most players agree that the best resolution in the game is 1280×960, as it is the perfect balance between performance and quality, making it a great option for every player.

Here, you'll find all kinds of different settings you can use to change up the game, and we'll discuss each option and why we've changed it.

There's no performance difference using this setting since it is a purely color-based setting.

Vertical sync, otherwise known as V-sync, can lock your framerate while introducing input lag, so it's not a good idea to have it on in competitive games.

Setting it as Custom so we can change the options.

Disabling will give you performance, but at the cost of jagged edges, so it's better to keep it on because the fps gain is not worth it. Also, it can improve 1% low frames, which will lead to lesser hitching.

You can set it to high but don't keep it low because shadows can help you spot opponents in this game, especially in maps like Nuke.

If your PC has a weaker GPU, it's better to turn this off for a performance uplift. If you don't like how the game looks, you can set it to Medium. Just don't put it on High.

This option barely affects your framerate, so just keep it Bilinear.

The degradation of quality you get by turning it off is not worth the performance you get.

Highly improves FPS, especially around objects with lots of effects like smoke and fire.

Medium is a good ground between visuals and performance.

Setting this to performance will give you extra fps, but the visual downgrade is not worth it.

Enabling this can introduce ghosting effects, among other things like lower quality and input lag, so it's a good idea to just play the game without any upscale.

There's no downside to turning this on, as it improves input lag without a hit to fps.

And that's pretty much it! With these settings, you'll have the perfect balance of framerate and visual fidelity, making it ideal for players who want high fps without the cost of graphics. If the game still feels sluggish, you'll probably need to upgrade your system, as CS2 is a pretty heavy game compared to CS:GO, its predecessor.
