Top 10 best Path of Exile 2 bosses (ranked)

Top 10 best Path of Exile 2 bosses (ranked)

Despite being in its early access phase, Path of Exile 2 [1] continues to dominate the ARPG landscape with so much content that the average player likely won’t see everything until the actual game comes out. One thing every player will likely see, however, is the wide selection of excellent bosses to challenge in the game.

Today, we want to highlight our favorite bosses in Path of Exile 2. By collecting the general opinion of fans and combining it with some personal bias, we constructed this definitive ranking list of the top 10 best bosses in Path of Exile 2. From Count Geonor to The Crowbell, all of these bosses will make you forget you’re playing a game that’s in early access.

Without any more delay, here are the top 10 best path of Exile 2 bosses in the game’s early access. If you want to strengthen your character more and want to get your hands on some currency, you can always check out Eloking’s Path of Exile 2 marketplace. We ensure buyers meet sellers in a safe and regulated environment.

10: The Devourer

Location: The Mud Burrow (Act 1)

Devourer is a nightmare boss players will love if they like something scary. It’s the first major boss in the game, and it introduces players to what they can expect as they go through Path of Exile 2. The boss travels underneath the ground and rises randomly to deal damage with poison-infused sprays and ground-shaking AoEs

The fight emphasizes mobility because players must quickly avoid deadly attacks while managing the environment. Gamers must understand the basics of dodges and not solely rely on damage during the battle.

9: Zicoatl, Warden of the Core

Location: Jiquani’s Sanctum (Act 3)

Zicoatl is a chaotic fight because it uses a mixture of laser-based attacks and AoE blasts, so players must be wary of their positioning. The boss may seem immobile like it’s part of the environment, but it jumps to attack with powerful multi-armed attacks.

Players must be fast and ensure lightning resistance as they dodge the boss’s attacks. Zicoatl’s design has a steampunk aesthetic, making the fight visually interesting while challenging.

8: The Queen of Filth

Location: Apex of Filth (Act 3)

As the name suggests, the Queen of Filth is the most repulsive boss in Path of Exile 2 because she’s surrounded by vermin and poisonous sludge. Players must be careful of hazards like corrosive sludge and summoned mobs while fighting the Queen. The player's chances of succeeding depend on how they prepare for the fight, like having poison-resistant or mob-clearing gear.

Players must dodge AoE attacks, handle summoned enemies, and keep up with the fight's flow, making it a terrifying and mechanically tough boss.

7: The Executioner

Location: Ogham Village (Act 1)

The Executioner introduces players to the world of melee combat. The boss uses powerful melee slashes and AoE ground slams, so users must be careful of their positioning. The threat comes when he summons reinforcements, which are undead minions who add pressure during the fight.

The Executioner’s attacks are punishing, and players must quickly clear out mobs before focusing on the boss. Fans must work on timing, strategy, and precision to defeat the boss.

6: Zalmarath, The Colossus

Location: Valley of the Titans (Act 2)

Zalmarath is a towering statue. The fight is in an arena with multiple hazards like falling platforms and lava flows. Every phase of the boss introduces new challenges, so players must be ready for a tough fight. Users must keep moving and watch their step as the status stomps through the battlefield, with every step dealing incredible damage.

Zalmarath’s size and spectacle make it one of the most memorable Path of Exile 2 experiences, feeling satisfying when the player wins.

5: The Crowbell

Location: Hunting Grounds (Act 1)

The Crowbell is a giant and muscular crow with a bell it uses to hit the player into the ground. The boss fight takes place in an arena that changes over time. It starts in a wide-open jungle and moves to a confined space as the fight progresses. Although it may seem fun and humorous, it’s a tough fight.

The Crowbell’s attacks are strong, and players must always be ready for any changes in the arena. Its comical attempts to catch gamers add charm to the fight, even if it’s a threatful presence throughout the fight.

4: Doryani, Royal Thaumaturge

Location: The Testing Pit (Act 3)

Doryani is one of the most challenging and intricate boss fights in Path of Exile 2. It’s a multi-phase fight where Doryani changes between using Vaal technology on foot and utilizing a giant mech suit for powerful attacks. Players must adapt to enemy attacks and be wary of their positioning to win.

Doryani’s arsenal consists of elemental-based attacks like rear laser barrages and floating AoE slams, different mechanics gamers must learn. The fight doesn’t rely on surviving by mastering it and executing it flawlessly since it’s the game’s most punishing and rewarding boss.

3: Xylucian, The Chimera

Location: Chimeral Wetlands (Act 3)

Xylucian is a deadly chimera that moves across the battlefield with speed and ferocity. It uses elemental attacks that force players to react quickly. The boss fight has multiple phases, with each one introducing a new elemental hazard, like winds or explosions.

The arena plays an important role in the fight because players can destroy the structures surrounding it to expose Xylucian’s weaknesses for a short time. This boss fight combines environmental awareness and dodging, making it one of the best in Act 3 of Path of Exile 2.

2: Viper Napuatzi

Location: Utzaal (Act 3)

Viper Napuatzi is a general of the Vaal Legion and is one of the toughest bosses in the game. The fight takes place in a gladiatorial arena where the player must ensure they can manage a crowded battlefield and have poison resistance. Napatuze diffuses poison into the arena and summons soldiers to add pressure.

Her AoE poison attacks deal incredible damage, and gamers must be careful of multiple hazards while trying to battle. The fight gets more intense because the arena becomes smaller as time passes, making good mobility essential for survival. It’s a thematic and dangerous boss fight and incredibly memorable because of it.

1: Count Geonor

Location: The Iron Manor (Act 1)

Count Geonor, also known as the Iron Count, is a boss fight that feels like it’s from a Dark Souls game. He uses a freezing greatsword and switches between his human and werewolf forms. The fight’s difficulty comes from his numerous attacks, which include AoEs and melee slashes.

His second phase introduces a pack of wolves and a cold win that increases the fight’s difficulty. Players must avoid his freezing attack while managing incoming wolves and a cold win. The fight tests players’ skills, timing, and strategy, making it one of the most loved boss battles in Path of Exile 2.

FAQs

How many bosses does Path of Exile 2 have?

Path of Exile 2 has exactly 41 bosses currently. However, it’s important to keep in mind that what we’re saying applies only to the game’s early access. This means as the game’s complete release nears, players can expect to see many new faces and go up against many new bosses. It’s unknown how many bosses the final version of Path of Exile 2 will have.

Additionally, Path of Exile 2 is a game that constantly gets updates and new features. Therefore, it wouldn’t be farfetched to assume the game will likely continue to get new areas, missions, and bosses as the game goes on and new content is added.
