Arcane has some very well-liked characters, including the likes of Vi, Caitlyn, and Jinx. However, every story requires a couple of antagonists, and the more disliked they are the more fans can connect to the protagonists. Arcane is no different as it has a handful of characters most fans absolutely hate.
Today, we’re here to go through our picks for the five most hated characters in Arcane. In addition to obvious choices like Marcus and Finn, we’re also about to go through some entries that may potentially surprise some watchers. Who are the top 5 most dislikable characters in Arcane?
Several characters are in Arcane, where many are likable. Characters like Jinx and Vi are unanimously loved, while others like Silco cause debates in the community. Even though there are many likable characters throughout the show, there are some that nobody likes. Here’s a list of the top 5 most dislikable characters in Arcane:
5: Sevika
Sevika sides with Silco when she realizes she disagrees with Vander on how to run the Undercity. For her, violence is the answer, and that’s what everyone should use if they want to fight against the Enforcers, which leads her to become Silco’s second-in-command.
While Sevika has some enjoyable moments in the show with scenes that put fans on the edge of their seats, her eagerness to get rid of Vi and Jinx, two of the most loved characters in the show, makes it hard to like her or her side with her.
4: Ambessa
Mel’s mother, Ambessa, is a selfish warlord from Noxus who saw the face of death early on in her life, changing her mentality permanently. Because of her childhood, she forced Mel to be a firm commander who would do anything possible to win.
Ambessa’s mindset regarding war and death caused her children, Kino and Mel, to look the other way and focus on peace. What made fans dislike Ambessa was that she went on to disown Mel because she saw in her daughter’s eyes that she disapproved of her making the “necessary decisions” to keep their family safe.
3: Deckard
The show implies that Deckard, one of Silco’s henchmen, is an orphan taken by the antagonist. Despite these implications, Arcane doesn’t follow up on them, making these suggestions pointless.
The problem with Deckard is that he’s too arrogant and braggadocious to be Silco’s henchman, and his only motivation is to become powerful. To achieve his goal, he does whatever Silco asks, like drinking his first vial of Shimmer. After that, he acts like a drug addict and becomes too predictable.
2: Finn
Finn began working for Silco because he recognized the villain's potential to kill Vander. Vander was a problem to Finn, and he was ready to get rid of him in any way possible, but after Jinx messed up multiple times, he stopped believing in Silco and betrayed him.
After that, he rallied the other Chem-Barons to fight against Silco, leading to the infamous gas scene. Besides that, he constantly tries to kill off Silco, a character many people love, so he instantly becomes unlikable.
1: Marcus
Ending our list is the obvious choice, Marcus. Marcus is a bigoted, abusive, and corrupt police officer who chooses to make money and himself famous instead of doing his job. He’s the one who separated Vi and Jinx and caused immense trauma to both sisters and if someone gives trouble to the most loved character in the show, that someone will be the most disliked.
His presence in the show is annoying because of his cockiness and delusion that he has a lot of power when in reality, Silco is the one who’s doing the work. The problem with Marcus is that he resembles many of the bad things seen in real life, immediately making viewers despise him.
