Now, leaks and data miners may have revealed the theme for League of Legends 2025’s third season, and it’s one that most players likely didn’t expect. The season will be themed around the Darkin, which makes sense when considering which new champion was leaked to be coming to the game.

League of Legends 2025 Season 3 is themed after the Darkin

The leaks confirm a Darkin-themed battle pass for Season 3, including new cosmetic visuals like orbs and pass bundles. These assets match known Darkin design and were spotted on the test server, making it likely they will ship soon. Not to mention, a known leaker states that the upcoming champion would be Zaahen, who seems to be a vessel for the Darkin.

Speaking of the Darkin, it’s an ancient corrupted race imprisoned within sentient weapons. These beings were once ascended Shuriman warriors, twisted by blood magic and sealed through celestial power. 

Those who are interested in which champions may get skins in the Darkin-themed battle pass may not need to wonder anymore. Riot Games may go the Darkin route and give skins to the likes of Aatrox, Kayn, and Naafiri. Alternatively, the likes of LeBlanc and Vladimir are usually chasing Darkin artifacts, and giving at least one of them a skin may make sense. It would also be cool to see Riot give Shuriman champions the spotlight, giving skins to the likes of Amumu, Zilean, Xerath, and Sivir.
