Who is the League of Legends champion Zaahen?

Who is Zaahen in League of Legends?

Insider Big Bad Bear has revealed that the next Darkin, named Zaahen, is expected to arrive by the end of Season 3 in 2025. Fans first noticed something during Yunara’s announcement. A dark, spear-like glaive briefly appeared on-screen. According to Big Bad Bear, this weapon is tied to Zaahen.

Earlier leaks showed an outline of the champion. Now, updated art reveals a full design. The model features gold accents, and both the body and wings are made of petricite, a stone known for resisting magic. Zaahen’s winged cloak makes his silhouette stand out clearly on the Rift.

Big Bad Bear also mentioned that Zaahen doesn’t appear human. Instead, he looks like a royal guardian from Atlantis, possibly a vessel built to contain the Darkin. The petricite on his body and wings suggests he may be naturally resistant to magic, similar to Gallio.

What role will Zaahen play in League of Legends?

Zaahen is classified as a fighter, but his main role hasn’t been confirmed. He could show up in top lane, jungle, or even as a tanky support. Riot is expected to release more details about him soon, likely alongside new information about the upcoming season stage.

However, if we were to speculate, it would likely be smarter for Riot Games to release this new champion as a jungler or top. After all, Mel is a support and mid champion, while Yunara is an ADC. While Ambessa could technically be played on the top lane and in the jungle, the champion is primarily a top lane champions, and having another dedicated jungler like Kayn or Kindred would likely give all those jungler mains a reason to not feel left out.
