League of Legends is easily one of the most popular MOBAs around, and this is largely thanks to just how frequently Riot Games comes out with new updates. The trend continues, as League of Legends is coming out with a new playable Champion, Ambessa.
While fans already knew the Arcane Champion would come to the game, a lot of details were hidden. For example, players had no idea what abilities to expect from Ambessa, especially since she hadn’t seen much action in Arcane. Additionally, her release date was also largely a mystery, though that isn’t the case anymore.
So, without any further ado, here is everything to know about Ambessa’s abilities and release date. Those who want to learn this Champion as soon as she comes out can always hire a professional coach from Eloking to show them the ropes. What abilities does the new League of Legends champion Ambessa have?
Ambessa is the newest champion coming to League of Legends, with brand-new abilities that make her different from other playable characters. Here is a list of the upcoming Noxian Warlord’s abilities and what they do:
Passive - Drakehound’s Step
Whenever Ambessa casts an ability, she automatically dashes whenever her ability ends after issuing a move or an Attack order. Casting abilities will also make her more powerful by increasing her attack range and speed. Some of these attacks will also require a charge to deal with extra damage while restoring some energy.
Q - Cunning Sweep/Sundering Slam
Ambessa sweeps her blades forward in a semi-circle. Enemies that are on the edge of the attack will get extra damage. Whenever the player hits an enemy using the ability, it will prepare the Sundering Slam for a short period.
When the player recasts their ability, Ambessa slams her blades forward in a line to deal bonus damage to whoever gets hit by the attack first.
W - Repudiation
Casting this ability will give Ambessa a shield, where she braces herself and then slams the ground to damage any opponent in a nearby radius. If she gets hit by an enemy champion, large monster, or structure, she will deal more damage with the ability.
E - Lacerate
Ambessa whips her dual blades around herself in a circle to damage and slows down any enemy caught in it. If Ambessa initiates Drakehound’s Step with this ability, it will cause her to dash and use the ability a second time.
R - Public Execution
Using this ability will cause Ambessa to blink to the farthest enemy champion in whatever line she chooses and then suppress them when she reaches them. After suppressing them, she slams the enemy into the ground, causing them to take damage and get stunned.
This ability has a passive that gives Ambessa some armor penetration and causes her abilities to heal.
What other Arcane update is coming to League of Legends?
Ambessa isn’t the only addition to League of Legends coming to the game to celebrate the second season of Arcane. In addition to the new Champion, the much-loved ARAM game mode is also getting a map rework. This is huge news as the last major ARAM update was in 2019 when Butcher’s Bridge returned.
The Howling Abyss map the ARAM mode usually has will be replaced by the Bridge of Progress. The Bridge of Progress will be complete with unique Arcane-themed buffs players can get when they destroy inhibitors. Additionally, the announcers and shop keepers are different compared to what players are used to.
Not to mention, all of the Arcane Champions also have nemesis quests to take advantage of. These include quests for Jayce and Viktor, Singed and Heimerdinger, Jinx and Ekko, Vi and Warwick, and Jinx and Caitlyn.
However, it should be noted that this map rework isn’t permanent. On the contrary, the Bridge of Progress will leave the game come January 8, 2025.
