The June CS2 update brought with it a major change to the loadout system, and as such, it's only expected that players would be looking for the best possible loadout to get that head start advantage. Instead of having to use the ancient buy wheel, we can now use the totally revamped buying system to make all our weapon purchases easier. However, what's the best loadout to buy in the game?
Naturally, we'll first be explaining in depth just how the CS2 loadout system works. With that done, we'll be going through some of the best loadouts to keep by your side. To be more specific, we'll be going through the best loadouts for pistols, mid tier weapons, and rifles for both CT and T side.
So, if you were looking for a place you could find all the best CS2 weapon loadouts, then good news, you're at the perfect place.
How the CS2 Weapon Loadout Works
Before anything, let us go through the basics of how the new weapon loadout system of CS2 works. Players who played or still play CSGO will know that the loadout screen in that game only really allowed for selecting which skin you wanted to use, with just a handful of slots able to be swapped or chosen between. However, that isn't the case when it comes to CS2 at all.
''Any 5 pistols, any 5 mid-tier weapons, and any 5 rifles. Today's Counter-Strike 2 update introduces a revised loadout system where players select 15 weapons from 3 categories on CT and T-side to bring with them into matches. Including the M4A4 and M4A1-S.'' -CS2 (Twitter)
Above is a statement from the official Twitter account of CS2. So, what does it mean? Well, it means that players have the freedom to select five pistols, five 'mid-tier' weapons, and five rifles to choose from for their main competitive layout. Naturally, team exclusive weapons will remain locked for their respective sides.
With that being said, choosing the correct loadout is more important than ever before, especially because of the extra convenience Valve has given players. Of course, this also means that some weapons, like the FAMAS, are at risk of going extinct completely.
T Side Best Pistol Loadouts for CS2 (Glock, Desert Eagle, TEC-9, P250, Dual Berretas)
Among our favorites for Terrorists in CS2 are the Glock, Desert Eagle, TEC-9, and Dual Berettas. Starting off, the Glock stands out as a reliable and cost-effective choice, perfect for eco or pistol rounds. With its high rate of fire and decent accuracy while moving, it allows players to swiftly overpower opponents and gain an early advantage.
For those seeking raw power, the Desert Eagle, or "Deagle," is an iconic handgun known for its ability to deliver devastating damage with a well-placed headshot. A popular pick for the terrorist side, it can be a game-changer in the right hands.
For those wanting a more rate of fire, TEC-9, a highly versatile pistol, is a favorite among Terrorists due to its rapid fire rate, making it lethal in close-quarters engagements. Its ability to effectively spam bullets makes it a valuable asset for aggressive plays or force-buy rounds.
Both Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists can appreciate the P250 for its well-rounded nature. With good accuracy and moderate damage, it is suitable for close and medium-range combat, often favored during if you want to eco better or when conserving funds.
Finally, while not as commonly used as other pistols, the Dual Berettas offer a unique and enjoyable gameplay experience. Their dual-wielded setup grants a higher rate of fire, making them formidable in close-range scenarios. As a relatively affordable option, they appeal to players looking for a different approach or those with limited funds.

CT Side Best Pistol Loadout for CS2 (USP-S, P250, Five-SeveN, CZ75- Auto, Desert Eagle)
Moving on to the Ct side, there are a bunch of potential choices for players to choose from. Among these, the USP-S stands out as a favored choice due to its exceptional accuracy and minimal recoil.
Players who prioritize stealth and precision find this silenced weapon ideal for taking long-range shots while staying mobile, surprising opponents with tactical advantages. However, for those looking for a reliable and cost-effective pistol, the P250 emerges as a popular budget option in early rounds.
The Five-SeveN presents itself as a unique sidearm, boasting a high magazine capacity that permits players to unleash a continuous barrage of bullets without frequent reloads. Also, when it comes to close-quarters combat and holding narrow choke points, the CZ75-Auto shines as a favored weapon due to its rapid fire rate.
Its ability to swiftly switch to the secondary weapon, usually the primary weapon, grants players a seamless transition during intense firefights with limited ammo.
Finally, while the Desert Eagle might be a costly investment, its powerful impact makes it a deadly choice for those with precise aiming abilities. Skillful players can employ it as a devastating "one-tap" weapon, taking down enemies with a single well-placed shot, even against armored opponents. Moreover, its capability to eliminate unarmored foes with body shots proves advantageous in certain situations.
T Side Best Mid-Tier Loadout for CS2 (MAC-10, UMP-45, XM1014, MP7, Nova)
Starting off the first best loadout pick for the terrorist side is the MAC-10, a solid weapon in CS2 due to its affordability and high rate of fire. It excels in close-quarters combat, making it ideal for aggressive plays or anti-eco rounds. There's also the UMP-45, which is a reliable and versatile SMG in CS2. Its moderate rate of fire, coupled with manageable recoil, makes it suitable for both short and medium ranges. Unlike other SMGs, it boasts higher armor penetration, making it effective against opponents with head armor.
The XM1014, commonly known as the Auto-Shotgun, is a devastating weapon in close-quarters engagements. With its ability to deliver a barrage of pellets in a single shot, it can deal significant damage at short ranges.
This makes it especially effective in tight maps and chokepoints. Furthermore, the MP7 is a well-balanced SMG that finds its strength in versatility. It boasts reasonable accuracy, manageable recoil, and a high rate of fire, making it suitable for both close-quarters and medium-range combat.
Finally, if you want another shotgun in your arsenal, then the Nova shotgun stands out for its impressive one-shot kill potential at close range. In tight spaces and corners, it can be a lethal surprise for unsuspecting enemies. Its price point is relatively low, making it an attractive choice for eco rounds or force buys when finances are limited.
CT Side Best Mid-Tier Loadout for CS2 (MP9, UMP-45, XM1014, MAG-7, Negev)
Moving on to the best CT side mid-tier loadout for CS2, we just HAVE to start with the MP9, a good weapon in CS2 due to its impressive rate of fire, affordability, and manageable recoil. As a submachine gun, it excels in close-quarters combat, making it ideal for aggressive plays or eco rounds when the budget is limited. Its high rate of fire allows players to unleash a barrage of bullets quickly, increasing the chances of landing multiple shots on opponents.
The UMP-45 is also highly regarded for its versatility and cost-effectiveness in CS2. It falls under the submachine gun category, and its moderate rate of fire, coupled with its armor-penetrating ability, makes it an excellent choice for both close-range and mid-range engagements.
However, if you want a good shotgun, then the XM1014, commonly known as the Auto-Shotgun, is the one to go for. Its main strength lies in its devastating close-range damage potential, capable of eliminating opponents in a single shot at close distances.
The MAG-7 is another shotgun option in CS2 that boasts excellent close-quarters power and versatility. It has a lower rate of fire compared to the XM1014 but compensates with higher damage output and better accuracy. The low rate of fire is canceled out by the Negev, which is classified as a heavy machine gun in CS2.
Its most notable feature is the extremely high magazine capacity, making it the ideal suppression tool. In situations where suppressing fire is essential to control enemy movement or to gain map control, the Negev excels.
T Side Best Rifle Loadout for CS2 (AK-47, AWP, Scout, Galil, SG553)
The AK-47 is widely considered one of the best weapons in CS2 due to its exceptional balance of power, accuracy, and affordability. Therefore, it's only natural that we'd add it to the best loadout for CS2, right? Though we have to wonder if the AK-47 is better than the M4A4 in CS.
Regarless, its high damage output allows for one-shot headshots, making it deadly in skilled hands. If you want a sniper rifle instead, then you can also go for the AWP, the legendary sniper rifle that can take out enemies in a single shot when in the right hands.
Oh, you want to use a sniper on a budget? Then the Scout should be your go to. Not only is it cheaper than the AWP, but the rate of fire is also better. Another affordable option is the Galil, a rifle that can really shine in eco rounds because of its decent damage and manageable recoil. Wrapping up this loadout is the SG553, also known as the Krieg, as it has more accuracy than the AK-47 and also has some insane two shot potential.
CT Side Best Rifle Loadout for CS2 (M4A4, M4A1-S, AWP, Scout, FAMAS)
As the standard CT rifle, the M4A4 boasts a decent rate of fire and manageable recoil, making it suitable for both close-quarters combat and medium-range engagements. Pair it up with the M4A1-S, which is renowned for its pinpoint accuracy and low recoil, and you got yourself a powerful combo.
Similar to the CT side, we also have both the AWP and the Scout added to this loadout. Hey, if it isn't broken then don't fix it, right? Just don't try to no-scope with the Scout. Wrapping up this loadout is the FAMAS. Yeah, we know we said the weapon might go extinct sooner or later, but we're here to ensure that doesn't happen any time soon.
