Teamfight Tactics has come out with its 12th set called Magic n’ Mayhem. While fans are loving it, it’s brought a bunch of new content to the game that players can enjoy and take advantage of, even if it may feel a little overwhelming for some. Fortunately, we’re here to help with this issue.
Today, we’re here to go through all of the Tome 1 traits the Magic n’ Mayhem set has brought to the game. In addition to the trait, we’ll also name all of the key champions as well as how the trait works.
Without any more dillydallying, here’s every Tome 1 Magic n’ Mayhem trait in Teamfight Tactics.
Portal: Opening New Dimensions
Key Champions:
Jayce (1G): Shapeshifter
Zoe (1G): Witchcraft, Scholar
Galio (2G): Vanguard, Mage
Kassadin (2G): Multistriker
Ezreal (3G): Blaster
Ryze (4G): Scholar
Taric (4G): Bastion
Norra & Yuumi (5G): Best Friends, Mage
How It Works:
Portal units create portals that unleash helpful or disruptive effects during combat. The higher their star level, the more impactful these effects become. Portal champions also receive a 15-second shield at the start of combat.
Dragon: Fire and Fury
Key Champions:
Nomsy (1G): Hunter
Shyvana (2G): Shapeshifter
Smolder (5G): Blaster
How It Works:
Fielding two Dragons applies Burn and Wound effects to enemies, dealing true damage and reducing their healing. With all three Dragons, their abilities are upgraded with even more power.

Witchcraft: Cursing the Competition
Key Champions:
Poppy (1G): Bastion
Zoe (1G): Portal, Scholar
Cassiopeia (2G): Incantor
Neeko (2G): Shapeshifter
Fiora (4G): Warrior
Morgana (5G): Bat Queen, Preserver
How It Works:
Witchcraft champions debuff enemies, lowering their max health and healing. As the trait level increases, enemies become more vulnerable, eventually being transformed into frogs and stunned at Witchcraft 8.
Honeymancy: The Sweet Sting
Key Champions:
Blitzcrank (1G): Vanguard
Ziggs (1G): Incantor
Kog’Maw (2G): Hunter
Nunu & Willump (2G): Bastion
Veigar (3G): Mage
How It Works:
Honeymancers summon bees that deal and reflect magic damage. If a Honeymancer falls, their bee will transfer to another Honeymancer for the rest of the battle.
Eldritch: Summoning Ancient Power
Key Champions:
Ashe (1G): Multistriker
Elise (1G): Shapeshifter
Nilah (2G): Warrior
Syndra (2G): Incantor
Mordekaiser (3G): Vanguard
Nami (4G): Mage
Briar (5G): Ravenous, Shapeshifter
How It Works:
Eldritch champions summon ancient entities like the Tainted Golem and Dark Monolith when your team’s health drops. At higher levels, they summon even more powerful beings that chain attacks and deal massive damage.
Arcana: Harnessing Ancient Wisdom
Key Champions:
Ahri (2G): Scholar
Hecarim (2G): Bastion, Multistriker
Tahm Kench (4G): Vanguard
Xerath (5G): Ascendant
How It Works:
Arcana champions provide powerful team-wide buffs based on the High Arcana you activate. Whether it’s boosting AP, granting damage reduction, or enhancing abilities with true damage, Arcana offers flexible strategies.
Faerie: Magic and Mischief
Key Champions:
Lillia (1G): Bastion
Seraphine (1G): Mage
Tristana (2G): Blaster
Katarina (3G): Warrior
Kalista (4G): Multistriker
Rakan (4G): Preserver
Milio (5G): Scholar
How It Works:
Faerie champions gain health and create special items that scale with the trait’s level. These items provide damage amplification, healing, and more.
Druid: Wukong’s Resilience
Key Champion:
Wukong (3G): Druid
How It Works:
Wukong doesn’t benefit from typical trait bonuses but makes up for it with high defenses. His ability, Cyclone, grants him a shield and deals damage that scales with his armor and magic resist.
Sugarcraft: Sweet Success
Key Champions:
Soraka (1G): Mage
Rumble (2G): Blaster, Vanguard
Bard (3G): Preserver, Scholar
Jinx (3G): Hunter
Gwen (4G): Warrior
How It Works:
Sugarcrafters gain AP and AD, collecting sugar from equipped items to build layers of cake. Once the cake is fully baked, they receive gold and other bonuses.
Chrono: Time is on Your Side
Key Champions:
Jax (1G): Multistriker
Zilean (2G): Frost, Preserver
Vex (3G): Mage
Karma (4G): Incantor
Camille (5G): Multistriker
How It Works:
Chrono champions benefit from a 16-second countdown at the start of combat. Each Chrono cast speeds up the countdown, granting powerful bonuses like healing, freezing enemies, and attack speed boosts.
Pyro: Burn Them All
Key Champions:
Akali (2G): Multistriker, Warrior
Shen (2G): Bastion
Nasus (4G): Shapeshifter
Varus (4G): Blaster
How It Works:
Pyro champions focus on attack speed and executing low-health enemies. Each kill generates Cinders, which can be collected for team-wide attack speed boosts.
