Shopify Rebellion quits competitive Dota 2

Shopify Rebellion has officially stepped away from the Dota 2 scene. The move ends the team’s two-and-a-half-year run in the game. All of its players are now free agents and can explore new opportunities.

The Canadian org entered Dota 2 back in 2022. Over the years, the roster showed promise in qualifiers and even reached The International 2023. However, they couldn’t secure deep runs at top-tier events. After falling short of their goals, the team has decided to exit the scene completely.

CEO Dario "TLO" Wünsch shared his thoughts on the departure. He acknowledged the tough moments fans faced and said the disappointment was shared by the team. He also praised the roster’s effort and wished them well in their future.

Will Shopify Rebellion return to competitive Dota 2?

While the team is stepping away for now, Shopify Rebellion hasn’t ruled out a comeback. The CEO said he plans to keep watching Dota 2 and hopes this is more of a break than a farewell.
