When in a match, try to communicate with your teammates more, and make it a habit to play the objective.

Decide What Sort of Tank You Want to Be

The first thing you need to do to start your journey of improving as a tank main is to determine what sort of tank you want to be instead of flip flopping around. The thing about tank players is that they're able to perform much better when it comes to higher ranks. This is because, at really low ranks, most players only want to play as a DPS hero, which leads to an imbalance of roles. Even healers focus more on dealing damage to enemies than healing their own teammates. Of course, the free to play aspect of the game also plays a huge part in this.

However, this doesn't happen at all in higher ranks, as the players then are much more experienced and more likely to play to win rather than play to get kills.
