Gaming organizations letting go of players and other talent is fairly common, since that’s just how competitive the scene is. However, letting them go ahead of some large-scale tournament rarely happens without there being replacement members lined up, which is why it’s so odd that SpaceStation Gaming did it.
With the Overwatch Champions Series’ third stage on the horizon, SpaceStation Gaming made the shocking announcement that it was releasing three of its players. Now, the question is whether the team will get new members in time for the stage’s start, or if it’ll get disqualified by technicality.
Here’s what to know about what’s going on with SpaceStation Gaming’s Overwatch 2[1] team.

SpaceStation lets go of Bliss, Kellan, and seeker
SpaceStation Gaming has confirmed the departure of three members from its Overwatch Champions Series roster just before the start of NA Stage 3. Kim “Bliss” So-myung, Kim “Kellan” Min-jae, and Alex “seeker” Taylor officially left the organization on August 4, 2025. Each of the departing players has since confirmed they are actively seeking new teams, though the separation seems to be on amicable terms.
The current roster for the team includes:
Christopher “Cjay” Smith - Support
Kamden “Sugarfree” Hijada - Damage
Alejandro “scissors” Léon - Damage (Substitute)
Ryan “squid” Ruffell - Support (Substitute)
The player departures follow the exit of Max “Unter” Unterwurzacher, who left his coaching role on July 26 after joining earlier in the year. It isn’t as though the team was doing entirely badly, though. SpaceStation Gaming’s performance in the OWCS NA Stage 2 was mixed, with the team finishing the regular season fourth with a 4-3 win/loss record. With the team being close to reaching the top, fans are hopeful that the new players will have what it takes to carry SpaceStation to international tournaments.
