Counter-Strike 2 [1] has an extremely competitive esports scene, with multiple known teams duking it out constantly on the big stage. However, only a handful of them manage to make their names known and win relevant championships. Team Liquid is one of the bigger names in the competitive scene thanks to its presence across multiple games, though even a powerhouse team like this has to change things around every now and then.
With just two months remaining before the highly anticipated Austin Major, Team Liquid is making bold moves in an effort to turn the tide. The North American organization has officially signed former MOUZ in-game leader Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek on a trial basis, parting ways with veteran rifler Justin “jks” Savage and coach Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg.
Here’s what to know about the Team Liquid Counter-Strike 2 roster change and what it could potentially mean about the team’s future.
Liquid changes roster ahead of major
Team Liquid has announced the signing of in-game leader Kamil ”siuhy” Szkaradek, replacing Justin ”jks” Savage two months before the Austin Major. The move comes after months of inconsistency, with Liquid struggling to perform despite potential. siuhy joins the team on a trial basis, freeing Twistzz from IGL duties and aiming to strengthen the team.
jks, who spent eight months with Liquid, has been benched alongside coach Torbjørn ”mithR” Nyborg. There were rumors regarding their exit in late March, with insiders suggesting that these changes were approaching. jks, a two-time Major winner, now goes through unsureness before the Austin Major, as his bench status prevents him from returning quickly.
siuhy’s trial begins at PGL Bucharest
The 22-year-old siuhy, last with MOUZ in January, will debut for Liquid at PGL Bucharest. He posts on social media, “My trial period with Liquid has officially started,” His addition makes this Liquid’s sixth roster change in a year in hopes his leadership will fix role clashes, specifically between NAF and jks.

jks’ future is in limbo
With VRS invites for the Austin Major undecided, jks might struggle to find a team before July. The Australian rifler averaged a 0.96 HLTV rating in 2025 but faced challenges after YEKINDAR’s leave forced positional adjustments. Analysts believe his passive playstyle clashed with NAF, contributing to Liquid’s struggles.
Liquid aims for stability
Liquid’s latest move depends on siuhy’s leadership skills. The squad opens PGL Bucharest against Legacy on April 6, showing fans an early look at the new lineup. If successful, the move can provide consistency to the volatile NA roster.
