CS:GO Majors have been one of the most favorite events in eSports. The atmosphere majors bring to the community is just phenomenal. Majors and LAN events have been getting canceled and delayed since the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. ESL One Rio 2020 or Rio 2020, was scheduled to be the sixteenth CS:GO Major Championship but it was also delayed because of the pandemic, it was stated to be a million-dollar major to be held in Rio de Janeiro with twenty-four professional teams from all around the world.

CS:GO Majors in 2022

After the situation with the pandemic finally settled a little bit, Valve has decided to conduct two CS:GO Major Championships in 2022.

The first CS:GO major in 2022 will be held in Antwerp, Belgium by PGL. It will also take place between the ninth of May till the twenty-two of May. As PGL Major Stockholm 2021 was the most successful event in CS:GO history. PGL will be hosting the first major of 2022.

The chief executive officer, Silviu Stroie has stated "We are glad to have the opportunity to bring back the fans and players together for another CS:GO Major. Belgium has an impressive Counter-Strike fanbase, and many legendary players were born in this country. We are ready to offer an incredible experience for the fans inside the arena and the passionate viewers at home." Due to the fact that CS:GO has a lot of fans from Europe, PGL has decided to host the major in Belgium as it is situated in the heart of Europe. Bart De Wever, mayor of Antwerp has mentioned that "We are very excited to see this top-tier esports championship happening in Antwerp. The CS:GO Majors have millions of viewers, and tens of thousands of fans will visit our city to attend the matches. It is also the first time this tournament will take place in Belgium or the Netherlands. It puts Antwerp on the map internationally as a hot spot for esports, an immensely interesting and fast-developing sector."

We believe that the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 will be just as successful as the previous major that was also held by PGL. It will be the first time for a major to happen in Belgium. The prize pool for PGL Major Antwerp is $1,000,000.

Cheer up because there are rumors of a second major championship in 2022, which might be held in Rio de Janeiro. This major was supposed to take place back in 2020, but as we mentioned, it was delayed because of the pandemic. IEM Rio Valve Major would be the second major of 2022 and it would run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 13 only if confirmed.
