Counter-Strike 2 has multiple currencies that players can acquire through various means. However, among all of them, coins stand as some of the best ones as not only do they give players a sense of accomplishment for acquiring them but they can also be flaunted by other players so everyone knows you have that coin.
Today, we’re here to go through how to get every single coin in Counter-Strike 2. In addition to highlighting all of the coins currently in the game, we’ll also be giving some basic rundowns of every coin to ensure players know whether a coin is even accessible anymore and what they can do to get their hands on it.
So, without any more delay, here are the coins in CS2 and how players can get their hands on every coin in the game.
What are coins in Counter-Strike 2?
Coins are a type of reward players can obtain by being part of an operation or attaining a milestone. Players can display these coins by equipping them in the inventory, which will appear on the scoreboard for teammates and opponents. People can only equip and showcase only one coin at a time.

Every type of coin in Counter-Strike 2 and how to get them
There are five different types of coins players can get in Counter-Strike 2. Here is every coin and how to obtain them:
Operation Coins
Every so often, Counter-Strike gets a limited-time event called an Operation, where the game gives players missions and objectives to do. To participate in an Operation, players have to buy an operation pass. Alongside unlocking the event, purchasing the operation pass will give players the corresponding operation’s coin.
An operation coin has three tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. These coins start at the Bronze tier and can level up to Silver and Gold, depending on the requirements for that specific operation. Once the operation ends, the player can no longer upgrade that operation coin. If someone gifts the player an operation pass and they redeem it after the event has ended, they’ll get an operation coin, but it will be the bronze tier.
5 Year Veteran Coin
On August 22, 2013, a CSGO update introduced the 5-Year Veteran Coin. To get the 5-Year Veteran Coin, players need to be a part of the Counter-Strike community for at least five years. A fan must have any Counter-Strike game in their Steam library for five years, has played it once, and the account must not have any VAC bans to get the coin.
10 Year Veteran Coin
Valve added the 10-Year Veteran Coin on December 17, 2018, where players who were members of the Counter-Strike community for over ten years would get the coin. Its requirements are the same as the 5-Year Veteran Coin, except for ten years instead of five years.
10 Year Birthday Coin
On the August 16, 2022 update, Valve added the 10-Year Birthday Coin to Counter-Strike to celebrate the 10th birthday of CSGO. There’s no way to get the coin now, but when it was released, players had to earn a set amount of XP to get an item drop between August 16, 2022, and August 22, 2022.
Map Contributor Coin
Valve adds community maps to the game for every operation. People who create a map selected for the operation map pool receive the Map Contributor Coin. When the operation starts, the map creators will automatically get the coin in their inventory. Unlike the operation coins, the Map Contributor Coin doesn’t have variants, and authors can only receive a coin for a single map, so returning maps won’t award any new item.
