Controls
2XKO employs standard directional inputs for movement and various offensive and defensive actions:
Movement: Up (↑), down (↓), back (←), and forward (→).
Offensive Inputs: Light (L), medium (M), and heavy (H) attacks. These can be combined with directional inputs for specialized attacks like cross-ups or anti-air.
Special Moves: Each champion has special moves activated by S1 or S2 buttons. Performing down (↓) down (↓) + S1 or S2 spends 1 bar of meter for a super move, while down (↓) down (↓) + S1 and S2 together spend 2 bars for an ultimate move, a more powerful and cinematic super.
For defense, players can block by inputting back (←) or down-back (↙), use a pushblock with forward (→) + L and M, or retreating guard with back (←) + L and M. Additionally, parrying is possible with L + H, which costs 1 bar of meter and can be modified into a low parry by inputting down (↓).
Tag System
2XKO features a dynamic tag system where players select two champions: the Point and the Assist. The Point is the primary champion in action, while the Assist supports with unique abilities. The game allows players to swap roles between Point and Assist using the Handshake Tag. Each champion has separate health bars, and when the Point's health is depleted, the Assist automatically swaps in.
Key tag actions include:
Assist Actions: Special abilities unique to each champion, performed by inputting forward (→) + T or back (←) + T. Holding T during an Assist Action turns it into a Charge Assist.
Handshake Tag: Swaps the roles of Point and Assist when inputting the T button.
Dynamic Save: A combo breaker mechanic performed with S1 or S2 + T, summoning the Assist to interrupt combos.
