LoL Worlds 2024 Tournament Format
League of Legends Worlds 2024 will start with the Play-In Stage. 8 teams will battle in a double-elimination format. This is to make sure only the best teams make it through to the next stage. Teams that make it through to the Swiss Stage will then join 12 pre-qualified teams, which is when the real competition will begin.
The Swiss Stage is designed to be very challenging, and each team will have to give their 100% to survive. The teams will face off in a best-of-one format, and each matchup will be based on similar win-loss records. Teams that are about to advance or be eliminated will engage in a best-of-three series, and only the top eight teams will make it through to the Knockout Stage.
Things will only get more intense in the Knockout Stage, as the teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket. Every match will be a best-of-five showdown, and this phase will demand each team’s best performance as the slightest slip-up could mean the end of their journey. The tournament will see its end in the grand final on November 2, where the 2 best teams will clash for the prize: the Summoner’s Cup and $450,000 in winnings.
