What are the top 10 League of Legends professional teams?
League of Legends has been around for a long time, and its Esports scene is a big reason behind its long lifespan. With so many competitions happening yearly, these are the current top 10 best League of Legends professional teams:
10: Gen.G
Starting off our list is Generation Gaming, widely known as Gen.G. So far, they have a perfect 6.0 record in the LCK Spring Salt, where they even defeated the world champions T1 at the start. Gen.G has defeated other teams, like Nongshim RedForce, FearX, and more. It's easy to say they’re one of the best teams out because of their current run.
9: Bilibili Gaming
Bilibili Gaming performed well in the previous season, finishing second in Summer Splits and LPL Spring, third at MSI, and fourth in Worlds 2023. This team has beaten numerous big-name squads like EDward Gaming, Royal Never Give Up, and LNG Esports, with a big lead. They’ve been having trouble against JD Gaming, but it won’t be that big of a problem with the streak they’ve been on.
8: JD Gaming
Even Though JD Gaming hasn’t been in many games recently, they’re one of the few teams out that maintained a 100% win rate, defeating popular teams like Rare Atom and Ninjas in Pyjamas. They’ve also made three consecutive Split victories, starting in the Summer of 2022. JD Gaming was close to completing the Golden Road since they won Splits and MSI until they were up against T1.
7: Team BDS
Team BDS is one of the best teams in the League of Legends EMEA Championship in one of the previous seasons since they had a score similar to that of the greats, like G2, but lost when it went against them. The only other time BDS lost was when they were playing against Karmine Corp. Whether in the lower or higher brackets, they’re one of the best-performing teams.
6: FlyQuest
These guys are one of the best-performing teams in the League Championship Series. Since FlyQuest changed its roster in the off-season, it has brought players with experience in the League of Legends EMEA Championships. Despite FlyQuest losing a couple of times, they’ve been able to defeat stronger teams that have stood in their way, like Team Liquid and Cloud9.
5: Cloud9
Cloud9 is arguably one of the most popular and well-performing teams out there, and since their return in 2022, they’ve been performing as consistently as they were before their break. They’re one of the few North American teams to stay at the top. Cloud9 changed their roster to include Diplex and EMENES, two talented players for the Spring Split.
4: G2 Esports
G2 has been performing amazingly, winning four splits in a row two times. During the regular season, G2 defeated Fnatic and GIANTX and won seven matches. The only times G2 lost were when they played against Rogue and Team Vitality, which was probably a one-time thing. With their current pace, it seems G2 is on its way to winning the Winter Split title and getting its 13th LEC win.
3: Ninjas in Pyjamas
Despite having a bad start earlier, they’ve been on a great streak nowadays and have made it to second place in the League of Legends Pro League Spring Split. Ninjas in Pyjamas have been around for a long time, and if they stay in the mindset and style they’ve been in these days, they have nothing to worry about.
2: NRG Esports
With NRG Esports debuting in the Summer Split a bit ago and winning their first League Championship Series, they were also able to finish in the top eighth position at Worlds 2023. Finishing in that position alone gives people a great idea of their potential and what they can expect in future tournaments.
1: T1
Ending the list is T1, arguably the most successful League of Legends team playing, with an impressive four world championship titles. Even though T1 hasn’t won a lot nowadays, their previous achievements and the fact that Faker still plays put them above the rest of the teams.
