League of Legends [1] Arena is a dynamic 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2 game mode where teams face off in rotating combat rounds, aiming to be the last duo standing. Introduced during the Soul Fighter event in July 2023, Arena has undergone several iterations, with the most recent update, "The Grand Reckoning," launching in April 2025. This version features enhanced maps, new items, and the introduction of "Guests of Honor," Noxian champions who influence gameplay rules through player votes.
Arena's gameplay centers around strategic team compositions and adaptability. Players select champions through a blind pick system, without runes or summoner spells, and engage in combat across various themed battlefields. After each round, teams can choose between acquiring gold to purchase items or selecting Augments, which are unique buffs or power-ups.
Arena has already been established as a limited-time mode, and while it won’t ever be permanent, players can expect it to frequently become available to enjoy thanks to its popularity. However, the map will likely be different the next time the mode comes, depending on what Riot wants to highlight.
