In Marvel Rivals, the MVP (Most Valuable Player) title honors the top-performing player on the winning team at the end of a match. Unlike other hero shooters that focus mainly on kill counts, Marvel Rivals uses a more holistic system that accounts for multiple aspects of gameplay.
The MVP system highlights well-rounded contributions, rewarding players who perform their roles with efficiency, be it damage dealing, supporting, or defending.
Marvel Rivals uses several performance metrics to decide who earns the MVP title. Here’s what the system takes into account:
Winning MVP also gives players a stylish reward, MVP animations. These cosmetic highlights showcase the top player’s hero in a cinematic pose after the match. Every hero starts with one default MVP animation, usable with any costume. Additional animations tied to specific costumes or chromas can be unlocked through events, bundles, or the Battle Pass.
As of May 30, 2025, there are 151 MVP animations available across the game’s 39 playable heroes, making the MVP system a key visual bragging right in Marvel Rivals.
