How to get Units in Marvel Rivals

How to get Units in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals [1], like any other free-to-play game, has various currencies players can acquire. From Units to Chrono Tokens and Lattice, every currency plays a different role and lets players purchase different things. Whether it be skins or the entire battle pass, players will have to get different currencies for different things.

Today, we want to focus on the currency called Units. Units are a type of currency that players can earn by playing the game and completing missions and achievements. Unlike the premium currency, Units can be earned without spending a single real-world dollar, though some methods are better than others. Units are also different from Chrono Tokens, which are usually earned through the ranked mode.

So, without further ado, here’s everything to know about Units in Marvel Rivals.

What are Units in Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals features two currencies: Units and Lattice. Units are the primary standard currency to buy costumes, items, and all other rewards except those tied to events such as the battle pass or promo codes. It’s possible to earn Units from completing missions, events, challenges, and sometimes through bonuses from the battle pass. Alternatively, it can be exchanged with Lattice, although it cannot be bought directly with real money.

Fastest ways to earn Units in Marvel Rivals

Now, there are four primary ways players can earn Units in Marvel Rivals, including completing achievement milestones and progressing in the battle pass. Below is every way players can acquire Units in Marvel Rivals.

With that done, we'll now go through every method one by one based on how recommended it is if you want to grind Units in Marvel Rivals.

Achievement Milestones

Accomplishing an achievement earns you Units that you can fetch from your profile at the top right of your screen. Every achievement track has milestones, making them a good source of Units. Each milestone offers opportunities for further rewards; these build to be very valuable sources of Units while you are working through challenging achievements.

Progressing in the battle pass

There are many consistent methods available for earning Units in Marvel Rivals, but progressing through the battle pass is probably the most straightforward. You can obtain Chrono Tokens by completing daily missions and challenges. Then, you can use these tokens to redeem rewards on the battle pass, including units.

The very first battle pass in the game allows players to acquire 300 Units. Moreover, you can get 300 extra Units if a friend is invited and uses the unique Assemble code.

Exclusive events

Another good method of collecting Units is by participating in seasonal events. By completing certain missions available in an event, players can find small Unit rewards, making this a worthwhile opportunity to boost their resources.

Converting lattice to units

The conversion ratio of Lattice to Units is 1:1. Thus, one Lattice will cost you one Unit. The option to purchase Lattice appears automatically if you don’t have enough Units to buy something. Alternatively, you can manually exchange Lattice with Units by going to the currency menu from the top-right corner of your store page.

Lattice is convertible to units on a 1:1 basis, which means they are the same value, even if they're different currencies. For example, 100 Units would actually cost $0.99, but you cannot purchase Units directly with real-world money. You have to buy Lattice and then convert it to the same amount of Units.

The best way to use Units in Marvel Rivals

Character skins, emotes, and special animations can be bought for Units. Players can use Units to purchase items in the store, like emotes and bundles. Typical bundles, such as one with a skin and a couple of more cosmetics, usually go for about 1,600 Units. Since Units would usually pile over time with the Battle Pass or from events, it's wise to use them for bigger expenditures, saving up for one big purchase to maximise their worth.

Here are some tips to help you spend your Units better:

While Units are the standard currency of Marvel Rivals, that doesn't mean players don't have to grind for them. There may be multiple methods to acquire this currency, but most are reward players with barely any Units.

How are Chrono Tokens different from Units in Marvel Rivals?

Now that you have a good understanding of Units and Lattice, you may be wondering about Chrono Tokens: Chrono tokens are the purple currency, whereas units are blue. Their uses are similar since they're both used to obtain skins and other cosmetics.

The primary source of earning Chrono Tokens is Battle Pass missions, which consist of daily and seasonal objectives such as winning matches or completing challenges. Sometimes, achievements grant a few Chrono Tokens, but this is less frequent. Some special events and promotions, such as Twitch Drops, may offer the chance to collect more tokens.

The difference between Chrono Tokens and Units is that Chrono Tokens can only be used strictly to unlock skins, cosmetics, and other items in the Battle Pass. It varies according to the item cost, ranging from as low as 200 to as high as 400 Chrono Tokens based on the rarity, with most premium skins priced at 400. Meanwhile, Units are used to buy things from the store. While their uses are pretty similar, where you can use them and what you can use them on differ.

FAQs

What is the best way to farm Units in Marvel Rivals?

While there are various ways for players to acquire Units in Marvel Rivals, the best way has to be by completing achievements. There are various achievements scattered across the game for players to complete. Not only do they require players to go out of their way to try new playable characters, which is an excellent way to improve in the game, but multiple challenges are refreshed, allowing players to complete them again.
