League of Legends patch 25.9 nerfs Gwen and buffs Ashe

League of Legends patch 25.9 nerfs Gwen and buffs Ashe

Being a competitive game, it’s only natural that League of Legends [1] is constantly tweaking its champions through nerfs and buffs. Patch 25.9 brings buffs to Annie, Ashe, and Leona, boosting their damage, mana efficiency, and utility to increase their impact in the current meta. Morgana, Orianna, K’Sante, and Shen also see smaller improvements to enhance their roles in team play.

Meanwhile, Gwen, Kalista, and Yorick receive nerfs, targeting jungle strength and early-game dominance. System changes include tweaks to Ignite, Rod of Ages, and several boots, aiming to fine-tune pacing and item balance across matches.

Here’s what to know about the League of Legends early patch 25.9 notes, and how they’ll affect your favorite champions.

Patch 25.9 will bring significant buffs to Annie, Ashe, and Leona, aiming to increase their presence in the meta. Annie’s burst damage will increase, especially for her ultimate, while her mana consumption will decrease. Ashe’s Q’s attack speed and AD ratios will improve, increasing her strength against other ADCs. Leona’s passive duration is longer, and her kit will consume less mana, allowing players to engage more frequently.

As for nerfs, Gwen, Kalista, and Yorick will see changes in this patch. Gwen’s armor growth will reduce, and her passive and Q damage against monsters will be much lower, weakening her jungling potential. Kalista’s health, AD, and Rend base damage will decrease. Kalista’s AD growth is slightly buffed to compensate for the nerfs, but she’s still weaker overall. Yorick’s jungle is getting nerfs, which is shocking considering he was recently reworked.
