Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 is ongoing and it’s easily one of the most popular tournaments right now. Going alongside powerhouses like League of Legends’ LEC tournament, the fact that the FPS can stand its own is a testament to just how many players love seeing their favorite teams duke it out on the big stage.
However, the tournament is slowly but surely reaching its climax. With G2’s spot already cemented in the grand final, now fans were anxiously waiting for the second team to join the grand final roster. The lower bracket final just concluded against T1 and EDG, and while most assumed EDG would easily win the match, that didn’t happen.
Here’s how T1 became the second team to join G2 Esports in the Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 grand final.
T1 causes a major upset against EDG
Going into the game, the general consensus was that EDward Gaming would easily win against T1. After all, the team is the reigning champion and won the previous Masters series. However, T1 came with all the smoke.
Arguably the biggest surprise was the way T1 defeated the former champions. Not only did T1 [1] defeat EDG in the first game, but the second game also went to T1. While EDG was able to grab the third game, the fourth went to T1, cementing the team’s spot in the grand final against G2.
Countless EDward Gaming fans are left dejected and outright disappointed by how the EDG players played during this lower bracket final. Arguably the saddest display was when EDG was defending during the fourth game on Split. Smoggy seemed like he was the only one from EDG actually performing while everyone else quickly fell. Additionally, T1 just continued to use the same tactics to take down EDG by infiltrating the site with their double-duelist strategy.
Most would agree that fans mostly wanted EDG’s CHICHOO to pull through with the performance fans saw in other games, but that wasn’t the case. T1 had lost to EDG once before during the start of the playoffs and the same didn’t repeat.
