What is Premier mode in Counter-Strike 2?

CS2 Premier mode, also called just Premier by players, is a new competitive 5v5 game mode in Counter-Strike 2. Unlike competitive mode, where people queue for select maps, Premier has a pick-and-ban phase so players can play on any map.

Premier replaces Competitive as the primary matchmaking option in Counter-Strike 2, introducing a new approach to traditional game modes. In Premier mode, two teams of five players compete against each other, where the first team to win 13 rounds is the victor. How does Premier mode’s ranking system work in Counter-Strike 2?

Premier mode’s ranking system works differently than in CS:GO. Instead of ranks that range from Silver to Global Elite, which separate players into different skill groups, Premier has a visible CS Rating for each player.

People get their rating after winning ten matches and then can climb the leaderboard if they win matches. After every 5,000 points, the color of their CS rating will change. These colors represent how high up a person is on the leaderboard. Grey is the lowest tier in Premier, similar to Silver in Competitive mode. Grey is followed by light blue, blue, purple, pink, and red. In this case, red is the equivalent of Global Elite.
