Counter-Strike 2[1] continues to rise to even greater heights as the simple but addictive gameplay attracts even more people. While the move from CS:GO to CS2 was definitely controversial, Valve has ensured the game stays in the spotlight through new seasons and an extremely bustling and ever-expanding competitive esports scene.
One of the biggest CS2 tournaments of the year is also slated to start soon as we’re here to go through everything to know about it. Of course, we’re talking about the IEM Dallas 2025 tournament. This includes going through an overview of the tournament in addition to highlighting the qualification process, listing every participating team, and telling you how to watch the tournament.
So, without anymore delay, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming IEM Dallas 2025 tournament.
An overview of IEM Dallas 2025
IEM Dallas 2025 will be one of the biggest Counter-Strike 2 tournaments this year, featuring 16 teams from around the globe. The event will take place from May 19th to May 25th at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The competition will provide players and fans with a week of CS2 action and has a $300,000 prize pool for the teams.
This competition will mark the third international IEM tournament of the 2025 CS2 competitive season, after IEM Katowice, which Team Vitality won, and IEM Melbourne, which starts in April. IEM Dallas 2025 will showcase a mixture of top-ranked teams and underdogs who’ve fought their way through regional qualifiers.
Qualification process for the IEM Dallas 2025 tournament
The qualification process for IEM Dallas 2025 was a mixture of invitations based on Valve’s VRS (Valve Regional Standings) leaderboard and regional qualifiers. Eight teams earned a position through their VRS rankings as of February 3rd, where the remaining eight teams earned their places through open and closed qualifiers that were held across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia.
The European Qualifier was competitive, with 16 rosters fighting for five spots. HEROIC was the final team to qualify after defeating Astralis in the last closed qualifier match. There were qualifiers in North America, South America, and Asia, with four teams each, where only the winners advanced to IEM Dallas.
