League of Legends has always had a problem revolving around playing with randoms. Many players feel like they lose a lot of their LP just because of their randoms not performing as well as they should. Luckily, that may be changing soon.
League of Legends [1] is introducing a brand new Aegis of Valor system that promises to protect players from deranking when playing with randoms. It promotes auto-filling and can give bonuses like double LP and full protection from LP loss as long as they perform well.
What are the rank changes in League of Legends 2026?
With the new Aegis of Valor feature in League of Legends Season 2026, players will potentially either get double LP when they win or full protection from LP loss if they lose. Of course, there are some prerequisites for this.
For starters, the player must be in an autofilled game. This means that they likely won’t be able to get the role they want, though the good thing is that it will urge more players to get out of their comfort zones and try other roles. Additionally, players also have to get a mastery score of at least C or higher. Because of this, a player who autofills but has no idea what they’re doing won’t get the benefit from this.
It’s important to keep in mind that those players who already play roles that are commonly autofilled, including support and jungler, will automatically get these rewards at a similar rate. They won’t get the lobby notification, but this system aims to reward those players who play roles that aren’t too popular.

What changes to dodging are coming to League of Legends in 2026?
The next major change related to matchmaking is that dodging will no longer reset your autofill status in 2026. With the new matchmaking system, those who are master rank and above will receive a loss if they dodge a ranked game, likely because of how much players were complaining in the higher ranks. After all, they had to wait for over 10 minutes for a match, only for it to get dodged.
It’s also important to keep in mind that the matchmaking system will attempt to match autofilled players by position or balance them between the two teams. This is likely because of the Aegis of Valor changes coming to the game, since more players will likely be autofilling now.
