Riot has previewed Patch 26.4, dropping February 19, with buffs to 14 champions, nerfs to 16, and a significant adjustment to the Hexoptics C44 item. It’s a conservative balancing act — but the numbers tell a bigger story about where the meta is headed.
Patch 26.3 (the Mel rework patch) shook up the roster, and now Riot’s fine-tuning the fallout. Top and Bot lane players report feeling better about the game’s state, while Jungle, Mid, and Support satisfaction is either flat or dropping. If you’re looking to capitalize on the changes and climb with a League booster from Eloking, knowing exactly what’s changing gives you a head start on the patch day meta.
Here are all the confirmed changes with actual numbers.
Every Champion Buff in Patch 26.4
Riot is targeting underperforming picks across multiple roles. The Jungle buffs are especially aggressive — four champions are getting higher monster modifiers to make them more viable in the position:

Top Lane and Solo Lane Buffs
Camille — E2 now grants attack speed when launching off the wall. This makes her hookshot engage significantly more threatening, as she can weave in extra autos during the stun window.
Illaoi — Passive base damage increased from 9-180 to 9-200. A straight stat bump that helps her trade in the early-to-mid game where she’s historically weakest.
Hwei — WW base shield increased from 100-200 to 100-260. His defensive painting option now properly absorbs an extra ability’s worth of damage at max rank.
Samira — Q lifesteal effectiveness increased from 80% to 100%. This is bigger than it sounds — Samira’s Q spam in teamfights now heals for the full lifesteal value instead of a reduced amount.[1]
Xayah — Receiving buffs to improve her viability in the current ADC meta.
Lux — Base mana adjusted from 480 to 440. Note: despite the lower base mana, this comes alongside other changes that make her mana management more forgiving overall.
Annie and Graves — Both receiving buffs (specific numbers pending final confirmation).
Jungle-Specific Buffs
Darius (Jungle) — Passive monster modifier increased from 2x to 2.5x. Riot wants Darius jungle to be a real option, not just a meme pick.
Udyr — Q on-hit base damage increased from 5-35 to 5-45. A 10-damage bump per auto adds up fast in extended jungle clears.
Fizz — W monster bonus damage increased from 60 to 90. A 50% buff to his clear speed that could move him from off-meta to viable.
Maokai — Q bonus monster damage increased from 120-160 to 140-180. His first clear was too slow compared to top-tier junglers.
Teemo — E monster modifier increased from 1.45x to 1.6x. Teemo jungle believers, your time draws closer.
Brand (Jungle) — Also receiving jungle-focused buffs to improve clear viability.
Every Champion Nerf in Patch 26.4
Sixteen champions are getting toned down, and the nerf targets read like a list of the most-complained-about picks on the ranked ladder. The solo carry potential of several hyperscalers is taking a direct hit:
Bot Lane Nerfs
Jinx — Armor growth reduced from 4.7 to 4.2. She’ll be noticeably squishier in late-game teamfights where the armor scaling matters most.
Aphelios — Passive bonus AD reduced from 5-30 to 4-24. A 20% cut to his free AD, which is significant given how it multiplies across all five weapons.
Twitch — HP growth reduced from 104 to 98. Combined with Jinx’s nerf, Riot is clearly targeting the hardest-scaling ADCs.
Mid and Solo Lane Nerfs
Kassadin — HP growth reduced from 119 to 113. He’s been too safe to trade into for a supposed “scaling” champion.
Syndra — W base damage reduced from 70-210 to 70-190. A meaningful chunk of damage removed from her primary poke ability.
Qiyana — HP growth reduced from 121 to 115. This makes her early all-ins riskier, which is where she was overperforming.
Kayle — Q base damage reduced from 60-220 to 60-180. A hefty 40-damage nerf at max rank that weakens her mid-game spike.
Kennen — Ultimate cooldown changed from 120/100/80 to a flat 120s at all ranks. His level 11 and 16 power spikes take a massive hit.
Other Notable Nerfs
Gwen — Q base damage per mini-snip reduced from 10-30 to 10-24. She was dominating top lane with too much sustained damage.
Zac — Q damage shifted from 40-100 + 3% max HP to 60-180 + 3% bonus HP. The max HP to bonus HP change is the real nerf — it cuts his tank-shredding potential significantly. His R maximum base damage also dropped from 350/525/700 to 300/475/650.
Braum — R base damage reduced from 150/300/450 to 150/250/350. A 100-damage cut at rank 3 is significant for a support’s teamfight contribution.
Rengar — Q damage adjusted from 30-150 + 100-115% total AD to 20-160 + 105% total AD. The base numbers shuffle but the AD scaling cap drops.
Rumble, Naafiri, Swain (Bot), Ambessa (Jungle) — All receiving targeted nerfs to their respective overperforming positions.[2]
System Changes: Hexoptics C44 and Ranked Queue
The item system gets one notable adjustment. Hexoptics C44’s damage amplification passive is being made more accessible: the required range for maximum damage amp drops from 600 to 500, and the takedown-triggered extended range duration increases from 6 to 8 seconds. This makes the item less punishing for shorter-range champions and more rewarding for snowballing off picks.
The Challenger ranked queue changes from earlier in the season are being partially rolled back. Riot increased queue times by approximately 30 seconds to improve match quality — and while the data showed matches were objectively better, players hated the wait times. The revert means Challenger games will be roughly 5-10% lower quality on average but significantly faster to find.
What This Means for the Meta
The direction here is clear: Riot is pulling back hyperscaling ADCs (Jinx, Aphelios, Twitch) while pushing jungle diversity hard. Five jungle-specific buffs in a single patch is unusual, and it suggests Riot’s internal data shows the jungle pool has narrowed too much.
For competitive climbers, the biggest winners are Samira (100% Q lifesteal is enormous), Camille (E2 attack speed is a playstyle shift), and Darius Jungle (if the 2.5x monster modifier works as intended). The biggest losers are Kennen (flat 120s ult cooldown hurts) and Zac (the max HP to bonus HP conversion is a fundamental power reduction).
Patch 26.4 goes live February 19. The full patch notes will be available on the League of Legends client and official site. Until then, these are the confirmed changes from Riot’s preview — some numbers may shift before the final release.
League of Legends Patch 26.4 is scheduled to release on February 19, 2026. It follows Patch 26.3 which launched on February 4 and introduced the Mel rework.
14 champions are buffed: Annie, Camille, Darius (JG), Fizz (JG), Graves, Hwei, Illaoi, Lux, Maokai (JG), Samira, Teemo (JG), Udyr, Xayah, and Brand (JG).
Yes. Jinx's armor growth is reduced from 4.7 to 4.2, making her squishier in late-game teamfights. Aphelios and Twitch are also being nerfed alongside her.
The required range for maximum damage amp drops from 600 to 500, and the takedown-extended range duration increases from 6 to 8 seconds, making it more accessible for shorter-range champions.
Kennen's ultimate cooldown changes from 120/100/80s to a flat 120s at all ranks. This eliminates his power spikes at levels 11 and 16, where the reduced cooldown was too impactful.
