Rocket League is one of the most popular free-to-play games out there, and that’s largely thanks to the number of constant updates and collaborations the game receives. While the game is under the Epic banner, it couldn’t be more different from Epic’s golden child Fortnite, even if the two games continue to collaborate with each other.
Today, we’re here to go through everything you need to know about Rocket League Season 16. This includes all of the new maps and gameplay changes the season will bring along with the competitive tournament schedule some of the best Rocket League players can use to prove they’re the greatest.
So, if you’re a frequent Rocket League player and want to learn about the upcoming season then keep reading because this is everything to know about Rocket League Season 16.
Here’s what’s coming to Rocket League in season 16
Season 16 of Rocket League will introduce various new things to the game, including cosmetics, maps, improvements, and more. The new season begins on September 4, 2024, and will run until December 4, 2024. Some of these items will be in collaboration with different brands. Here’s everything coming to Rocket League in season 16:
New Map
A brand new map is coming to the game. The new map is called The Drift Woods Arena, an arena where the soccer field is in a dense forest. The map has trees all around with sun rays shining through the leaves to make it an atmospheric arena.
A brand new track by Monstercat artists
Season 16’s new theme is an electronic song called Lie, composed by two Monstercat artists, Mr. Bill and Culptrate. Players can listen to Lie on the Rocket League x Monster 2024 Playlist on Rocket League Radio or purchase a small part of it in the Feature Shop as a Player Anthem.
Camera improvements
Previously, the replay camera would stay on the last place the player was when they got demolished after hitting the ball that would lead to a goal. From Season 16 onwards, the camera post-demolish will improve and track the vehicle's journey from the point of demolition to its respawn point, showing everything in its path.
Rocket Pass Premium
Like other seasons, season 16 will introduce a new Rocket Pass Premium with new decals, tires, trails, boosts, and more. For this season, the theme is otherworldly aura and mystery, meaning players can expect items related to supernatural things in the Rocket Pass.
Here’s a list of other cosmetics that will come to the game in season 16:
Creepshow Dominus Decal
Eyescore Goal Explosion
Mothman Antenna
Darker Disc Wheels

BMW 1 Series cosmetics
Some cosmetics based on the BMW 1 Series Car will come to the game. Players can buy the BMW 1 Series Car Body and the BMW 1 Series RLE Car Body. Both of these car bodies will have new engine sounds. Later in the season, owners of Rocket Pass Premium will receive a Decal for the BMW 1 Series. The BMW 1 Series Decal design will depend on the winning contestant's design of the Rocket League x BMW Decal Contest.
