Why is Omen disabled in all Valorant queues?

Valorant [1] has a healthy and diverse roster of playable agents, but some players still prefer to choose one or two agents and stick with them every time they want to play competitively. While this usually works well, it can get tough when Riot Games disables an agent for some reason.
The most recent agent to get disabled in every Valorant queue is Omen. The shadowy controller is targeted by a bug that gives players an unfair advantage, so players can expect to see this agent disabled until Riot Games fixes it.
So, if you’re curious about why you can’t play as this elusive Valorant agent, keep reading because we have all the facts.

What is the Omen Dark Cover bug in Valorant?
Those who have played Omen before will likely know how his Dark Cover ability works. After activating it, players can send the cover forward or backward according to where they want the smoke to be, though the location and footsteps of enemy champions are not visible or hearable while placing the smokes.
The new bug makes it so that, instead of the smoke, Omen himself is brought forward and backward, similar to when you activate the freely movable camera in custom mode. Since the game things the player is still controlling Omen instead of his smokes, enemy champions are visible, and players can hear footsteps too.
As you can imagine, this gives players a major unfair advantage against the opposing team. Information gathering is a key part of Valorant’s gameplay loop, and an agent who can reliably gather accurate information without any risk would be too broken. Thanks to this, Omen won’t be playable in any queue.
As for how long Omen will be disabled, Riot disabled Omen across all game modes starting at 5:15 PM PT on June 2, 2025, and is working on a hotfix expected to be deployed by June 3. Hopefully, Omen players won’t have wall hacks when the agent becomes playable again.
