The professional League of Legends scene is extremely dynamic, with the teams continuously switching out players to ensure it can perform to its maximum potential. European teams have been in a slump since they haven’t been able to perform well in any international tournament. Fnatic has been the same.
With Fnatic not being able to even qualify for MSI, the team is making some major changes. Going into the next LEC season, the team’s mid-laner, Humanoid, will be switched out for another player, Poby [1].
Here’s why the League of Legends Fnatic team is switching out Humanoid and what this means for European League of Legends.

Fnatic adds Poby for LEC Summer 2025
Fnatic has brought in Sungwon "Poby" Yun as their new mid-laner for the LEC Summer Split 2025. This move also means Marek “Humanoid” Brázda has been moved to the team’s inactive roster after playing with Fnatic for three years.
Poby joins Fnatic after spending two years with T1’s Academy team. During that time, he took part in many regional tournaments. His most recent performance saw him place in the top six at the Asia Masters 2025 Stage 2. He also finished second in the LCK Challengers League and won the LCK Academy Series August Open in 2022.
In his welcome video, Poby said he’s here to “save the LEC,” following Fnatic’s fourth-place finish in the Spring Playoffs. That result wasn’t enough to get them into the Mid-Season Invitational, but Poby thinks he can improve the team’s tempo and overall strategy.
Even with a tough Spring showing, Fnatic is still seen as a top team in the EMEA region. They also finished third in the Winter Playoffs earlier this year. Fnatic’s CEO, Sam Matthews, praised Poby’s attitude, saying, “You’ve shown real hunger and commitment already. We’re excited to have you.”
Humanoid hasn’t spoken publicly about the change yet, and it’s not clear what’s next for him. Poby will make his first appearance for Fnatic when the LEC Summer Split starts on August 2, 2025. Riot Games hasn’t shared the full schedule yet, but the top three teams from the split will qualify for this year’s World Championship in China.
