Where to get Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Where to get Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

There have been multiple Pokémon added to Nintendo’s infamous series over the years. However, no Pokémon is nearly as popular as Pikachu, the series mascot character and the first Pokémon that the anime’s first protagonist Ash ever got.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A also features Pikachu and lets players capture the infamous mouse Pokémon. Getting the Pokémon is simple, as players can find the critter in Wild Zone 3’s southeast side. The Alpha and shiny variants of Pikachu are also discoverable here, making it the ideal spot to get this creature.

So, if you want to get Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, keep reading because we have you covered!

Where is Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

The first way to get Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is by going through the main story missions until the player gets access to Wild Zone 3. This happens during the ‘The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower’ mission, where players go to Emma’s agency. After making it into Wild Zone 3, players should be able to find some Pikachus on the southeast side of the area. The Pokémon appears during the day and at night.

Wild Zone 3, similar to other zones in the game, is a place where multiple Pokémon have made their habitat. Players can find Pokémon like Pikachus, Litleos, Skiddos, Flabebes, and more in this zone. It’s difficult to catch one while sneaking around, so it’s better to defeat Pikachu in battle to get it. While it’s dazed, players can use a Poke Ball or something better, like a Great Ball, for a successful capture.

It’s possible to get an alpha variant of Pikachu. Alphas are larger than regular spawns and are more aggressive. Like previous titles, the Pikachu species is an Electric-type that evolves from Pichu and into Raichu with a Thunder Stone. It can learn well-known abilities such as Thunderbolt.

How to evolve Pichu into Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

If players have already gone through Wild Zone 1, they should have spotted a Pichu by the western gate near a pond. If they have that Pichu in their party, then they can evolve it into a Pikachu. This is a second method for players to add the iconic Pokémon to their team without having to reach Wild Zone 3.

Pichu will evolve into Pikachu once it reaches a high friendship or affection level. There are multiple methods to increase friendship, and the best way is for players to take their Pokémon to any cafe and sit with them. Players can talk to the girl sitting near Cafe Pokemon-Amie and check their friendship status to get an idea of their progress. It’s important to complete the “Trubblesom Patrons” sidequest to unlock the girl.

Once the friendship status is high enough, players will get a notification informing them that Pichu is ready to evolve. To evolve a Pokémon, players must go into the menu, click on their Pokémon, and select the “let it evolve” option.

How to evolve Pikachu into Raichu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Players will need a special evolution item to evolve their Pikachu into Raichu. There’s a store in Lumiose City called Stone Emporium that sells all types of evolution items, including the Thunder Stone that’s needed to evolve Pikachu. The store is on Vernal Avenue, which is northwest of Wild Zone 1 and a bit west of Hotel Z.

The store may not be accessible until players have progressed through the story a bit. If the area is blocked off or the store isn’t there, then players should try to complete main mission 5 or 6. The thunder stone will cost ₽3,000. To use the stone, players must go to the “other items” section of their bag, scroll to the stone, and then use it on the Pikachu.

FAQs

Can I catch an Alpha Pikachu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

Yes. An Alpha Pikachu can appear in Wild Zone 3. It’s larger, stronger, and more aggressive than normal Pikachus, so make sure you bring strong Pokémon [1] and good Poké Balls before the fight.

Where do I get a Thunder Stone in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

You can buy a Thunder Stone at the Stone Emporium in Lumiose City for ₽3,000. The shop is on Vernal Avenue, west of Hotel Z. If it’s not available yet, progress further in the story until the shop opens around mission 5 or 6.
