EA FC 25 reportedly copying Rocket League

EA FC 25 reportedly copying Rocket League

EA FC 25, what formerly used to be the extremely popular football game FIFA, has barely anything in common with Epic’s Rocket League. While both games utilize the sport of football, their gameplay and approach to gameplay couldn’t be any more different. This is why it came as a shock when leakers stated EA was taking a page out of Rocket League’s book.

Today, we’re here to go through everything we know about EA FC 25 reportedly copying Rocket League. This includes what the new game mode that’s being compared to Rocket League is about and what it’ll likely be replacing when the game actually comes out.

So, without further ado, here’s how EA FC 25 is copying Rocket League. This change will undoubtedly boost Rocket League’s popularity. If you want to stay on top of things we highly recommend you get your rank to a good level before the surge of newcomers starts flooding in. EA FC 25 might get a mode with rules similar to Rocket League.

Well-known EA FC Leakers like FGZNews, FUT Camp, and FUT Police have been leaking various details regarding the football game over the past few weeks. These leakers claim that a new Rocket League-esque mode might replace an existing mode in the new title.

As for what’s in the new mode, it will be a 4v4 game mode where players will compete on small fields. Like Rocket League, gamers will only control a single person in that game mode, and users can choose that person from their Ultimate Team club.

Another difference the mode will have is that it won’t have kick-offs. Instead, the match will start with every player running towards the ball from the start, and the person who reaches it first will have control of it, similar to Rocket League, where cars start on the corner of the field and have to race and hit the ball first.

Penalties will work differently too. Instead of the default penalty phase, where only one person is the goalkeeper and the other tries to shoot the ball, two players will dribble against each other and try to score a goal.

Due to the game mode having multiple leaks, the name of it is unclear. Some leakers have been calling it Penta, and others have been calling it Rush. Apparently, Penta will be a mix between Pro Clubs and Ultimate Team. Playing Penta will level up the battle pass, and players can speed up the process by completing objectives within the game mode.

What mode is Penta replacing?

Penta is replacing the infamous Volta experience. For those who don’t know, Volta was first introduced in FIFA 20 and was a mode where players could freely express themselves with customizable characters and skills. Even Though Volta is about five years old, it never caught on with the fanbase compared to other prominent modes in the game like Ultimate Team and Career Mode.

When will EA announce the new game mode?

EA FC games always get an official announcement trailer in July of every year, and this year followed the same trend. EA FC 25 got its official trailer on July 17, but, unfortunately, EA didn’t reveal anything about the game mode.

Therefore, players and fans will likely learn more about the upcoming game mode as the game’s September 27 release date approaches. Naturally, this takes into account that the leaked information is legitimate and not false.
