Ionia was a region of peace until it was attacked by Noxus in the Noxian War. Various champions from Ionia were affected by the war and everything was amplified with the involvement of Singed, who was one of the most disliked characters in Arcane, at least after Season 2. Singed created Chemtech bombs and gave them to the Noxus army to allow them to deal devastating and unchangeable damage to the land and people of Ionia.
