League of Legends is known for having multiple large-scale tournaments that fans worldwide tune in to watch. Although most of these tournaments usually have balanced teams that make it a gamble of which team can win, the same can’t be said for First Stand. From the start of this tournament Hanwha Life Esports has absolutely dominated the opposition, and it seems it may do the same in the finals.
After a long and tiresome round robin stage and semifinals for the knockout stage, Karmine Corp finally made it to the finals, surprising many. However, the team now has to face off against the second finalist, Hanwha Life Esports, in a best-of-five match that may put KC’s skills as one of the best EU LoL teams to the test.
Hanwha Life Esports and Karmine Corp are the First Stand 2025 finalists
Karmine Corp had a rather tough First Stand tournament run. The team lost against Team Liquid from the start and was barely able to scrape off a win against Top Esports, which was performing unusually bad. The one thing that saved Karmine Corp from getting knocked out in the round robin stage was winning a single game against HLE.
On the other hand, Hanwha Life Esports has cruised through the tournament. The team hasn’t lost a single match and barely lost two games in what seems to be their overconfidence catching up to them. Not having a single loss since February, it’s very unlikely the team will lose against Karmine Corp.
With that being said, it’s important to keep in mind that no one through Karmine Corp would make it to the grand finale. The team’s first loss against Team Liquid made everyone think it would get taken out in the round robin stage, though that wasn’t the case. It remains to be seen whether Karmine Corp can deliver a performance suitable for a grand finalist of one of three international League of Legends tournaments organized by Riot Games [1].
