The competitive League of Legends [1] scene continues to pit some of the strongest teams against each other. Now that the 2025 MSI and EWC are both over, every team is back to competing domestically for a chance to qualify for the next big thing. Changes are expected from teams that weren’t able to perform as well as expected, and G2 Esports is near the top of the list.
Going into the LEC Summer split, G2 Esports will be making slight changes to its roster. Specifically, the jungler and top laners will be swapping their positions to see if that hopefully fixes the slump the team has found itself in, especially after the team’s performance in the recent MSI.
Without any further delays, here are the changes you can expect to see from G2 Esports' League of Legends team going into the new LEC split.

What changes is the G2 LoL team making?
In a post made on July 31, 2025, the official G2 Esports account informed fans that the team wants to make changes to its League of Legends roster. Following its EWC and MSI results, the team will swap the team’s jungler, SkewMond, with its top laner, Broken Blade. The team’s reasoning for this is the desire to ensure there’s shared role knowledge so the players can play around each other better.
While this change seems odd at first, it isn’t too much of a surprise. Broken Blade hasn’t been able to perform to the best of his abilities in international tournaments, and the biggest reason for this is that he’s unable to play around his jungler. Whether it’s ensuring the Void Grubs aren’t being taken without his knowledge or having the proper lane awareness to play around ganks, G2 could have theoretically performed much better than it did.
SkewMond is rather unreliable as a jungler, at least when it comes to the top lane. While he always ensures his presence is felt in the bottom and middle lanes, the same can’t be said for top, and that’s a major hole in the team’s strategy. It’s unknown how this change will affect the team going forward, but fans are hopeful that G2 Esports can bounce back and finally win Europe an international title. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait for a while, since G2 won’t be playing in the first week of the LEC Summer split’s group stage.
