How to Be Better at Using Marshall in Valorant

Few things are as satisfying as getting a nice clean kill with the Marshall in Valorant. This sniper that costs 1000 credits to purchase might have some insane potential, but it isnât what you would call easy to use. Fortunately, there are ways to get much better at it, and that too in a short amount of time.
There are various ways to get better at using the Marshall in Valorant. Naturally, the first and most efficient way is to practice at the shooting range. Aside from that, you should make it a habit to aim for the head and to hold angles. Finally, learning how to quick scope and knowing when to switch to your secondary can go a long way.
Weâll be going through the five things you need to do if you want to get better at using the Marshall in Valorant.
#1: Aim For the Head
The Marshall might take two shots to take an enemy down with body shots, but it only takes one shot if itâs a headshot. Because of this, itâs highly recommended to make it a habit to go for the head every time youâre using this sniper.
Not only will this allow you to get more kills with the Marshall, but will also allow you to utilize this practice with other weapons. After all, headshots are universal. No matter what weapon youâre using, a headshot will always be more effective than a body shot.
Now, there are two ways to practice headshots with any weapon. The first is to work with your aim to make it a habit of going for the head every time. The second thing is to start holding angles that are head level. Like this, youâll be able to quickly fire at the enemy and land a headshot.
#2: Hold Angles
Speaking of holding angles, thatâs the second thing you should do if you want to get better at using the Marshall in Valorant. Holding good angles will allow you to quickly take out enemies without having to waste time aiming down sights.
You should position yourself in a spot where you have a clear view of an area, and wait for enemies to come into view. This allows you to take full advantage of the Marshall's long-range capabilities.
Another advantage to this is that you donât have to get up close and personal with the enemy. Itâs well known that a sniper usually doesnât fare well in close combat with, say, a shotgun. Therefore, youâll be maximizing your kill potential while minimizing the danger youâre in.
#3: Learn How to Quick Scope
If you donât know what quick scoping is, it basically means aiming down sights with a sniper and quickly firing at the enemy. Although quick scoping isnât recommended for taking down long range enemies, itâs very useful for medium to low range firing.
Therefore, we recommend you get quick scoping down as quickly as possible. Otherwise, the next time you get caught off guard by an enemy, you wonât even have a chance to survive. Quick scoping at least gives you the opportunity to take closer enemies out, as aiming and adjusting the aim takes too long otherwise.
#4: Know When to Switch to Your Secondary
While quick scoping can give you a fighting chance against close range enemies under most circumstances, it isnât always the case. Because the Marshall has a very low rate of fire and reload speed, you might not be able to take someone out quickly enough.
Therefore, in scenarios where you know, quick scoping wonât work or if the enemy is way too close to you, itâs better to switch to your secondary weapon. Regardless of your secondary weapon, it has to be better than using a sniper against a close-range enemy, right?
Knowing when itâs best to switch to your secondary is also an important skill to have if you want to get better at using the Marshall. Usually, the best time to switch to your secondary is either when you miss your first shot or when the enemyâs too close to you.
#5: Practice, Practice, Practice
Of course, the most efficient way to get better at using any weapon in any game is to practice. Valorant already provides players with a shooting range map that can be used to track their progress. Shooting targets that randomly pop up using the Marshall will allow you to practice all the tips we give before this one.
If the shooting range isnât good enough for you then you could always use Aim Lab or play Unrated until youâve gotten the hang of whatever aforementioned point youâre practicing. Alternatively, it might be a good idea to hire a professional Valorant coach from Eloking to show you the ropes.
