How to Get Unbanned in Overwatch 2

How to Get Unbanned in Overwatch 2

Online video games are a way for players of the same game to interact with each other. However, because of the competitive nature of games like Overwatch 2, it's crucial for the developers to implement dire consequences for players who break the rules, and that's where account bans come in. Fortunately, depending on your circumstances, you might potentially be able to get your account unbanned in Overwatch 2.

There are two ways of getting unbanned in Overwatch 2 depending on the type of ban on your account. Naturally, if it's a temporary ban then all you have to do is wait for the designated time period and your account should get unbanned by itself. However, if it's a permanent ban, then the only thing you can do is go to the official Blizzard customer support page and appeal your ban.

If you want to find out what you can do if you find yourself in a scenario where your account gets banned then keep reading.

What Might Get You Banned

Naturally, there are multiple actions that can lead to your account being banned. These actions include:

  1. Showing overall toxic behavior toward other players
  2. Cheating and boosting from a platform that isn't Eloking
  3. Selling and buying accounts from unreliable sources
  4. Throwing and griefing, especially in ranked mode
  5. Using third party software
  6. Accidental bans and false positives.

Now, avoiding most of these things is pretty easy. The first thing is to, of course, not be toxic. Toxicity is something that you should avoid regardless of the potential consequences as our aim should be to make the online gaming space a better place, even if you come across someone who just doesn't want to go tank.

Additionally, if you want to boost your account then using unreliable boosting platforms is a terrible idea. Instead, you should purchase an Overwatch 2 boost from Eloking, as we're the only ones who give absolute priority to your account's safety. Don't believe us? How to Get Unbanned

As we mentioned above, there are two main ways you can get your account banned depending on what type of ban has been set on your account. With that being said, we highly recommend you first understand the reason behind your ban, as that will determine what your next step should be.

Method #1: Waiting

Naturally, if the ban on your account is a temporary one, then it might be a good idea to just wait it out. As soon as the designated time period of your ban is over, your account should automatically get unbanned without you having to lift a single finger. Just try not to repeat whatever you did that caused your ban.

However, if you feel like the ban on your account was unjustified or a mistake on Blizzard's part, then you should move on to the second method to ensure your account gets unbanned quicker.

Method #2: Contact Blizzard Support

If your account has either been banned permanently or if you feel like the ban was a mistake on Blizzard's part then the method we recommend you go for if you want your account to get unbanned is contacting Blizzard Support. To do this, all you have to do is

  1. Go to the official Blizzard support page
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Under the 'tell us the issue' form, you should find small blue text saying ''I would rather categorize the issue.'' Click it
  4. Select 'account' and then 'appeal account action'
  5. Click on 'Appeal a penalty' and then on 'Continue'. When asked for confirmation, click 'continue appea'

With this done, you should be asked to write your appeal message. Now, this appeal message is the most important part of getting unbanned, just as it is for when you want to get unbanned in Dota 2, as it's the only thing the Blizzard customer support agent will see. Therefore, you have to ensure it's as full of the right content as possible.

Remember when we asked you to identify the reason you were banned in the first place? Well, that's where this comes into play. If you recognize that you have indeed violated the terms of service or code of conduct, it's important to acknowledge your mistakes and express genuine remorse. Include a sincere apology in your communication with Blizzard support. Demonstrating accountability and understanding of the impact of your actions may work in your favor during the appeal process.

However, If you believe you were banned unjustly or there were extenuating circumstances, provide any evidence or explanation that supports your claim. This could include screenshots, videos, or any other relevant information that demonstrates your innocence or highlights factors that may have contributed to the ban. Be clear and concise in presenting your case. The most important thing is to not use an accusing tone as that will decrease your chances of being unbanned.

If Your Ban Appeal Gets Rejected

If your appeal to lift the Overwatch 2 ban gets rejected, it means that Blizzard has reviewed your case and determined that the ban will remain in place. In this scenario, of course, if it was a temporary ban then you'll have to wait it out but you don't really have too much of a chance of getting your account back if the ban on your account was permanent.

Therefore, if you want to continue playing Overwatch, you can create a new account. However, it's essential to approach it with a fresh mindset and commitment to fair play and respectful behavior. Take all the precautions you can such as:
