Valorant console open beta now available: Here's how to join

Console players around the world have been wanting to play the F2P hero shooter sensation by Riot Games, and their dreams were answered when the company announced that Valorant would be coming to consoles. However, the game was in closed beta until just recently, so some might not know how to download it.

So, to help those players, we’re here to go through the steps players must follow to join the Valorant console open beta. To ensure there’s no issue at all, we’ll also answer some frequently asked questions like whether the beta will have cross-play and when the open beta is expected to end.

How to play in the Valorant Console Open Beta?

Starting July 26, players can play Valorant on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 as part of the Limited Time Open Beta test. The game is free to play, so players don’t have to spend any money to gain access to the first-person shooter either. 

Just remember that there are a few prerequisites that every player must meet before they can participate in the Valorant Open Beta. Firstly, each player must be in one of these regions:

• North America
• Europe
• Japan
• Brazil

Secondly, they must have an existing Valorant account without major bans, whether it's for cheating or toxicity.

After fulfilling both of these requirements, players have to follow these steps:

• Go to the Microsoft Store or PlayStation Store, depending on the console.
• Find the Search option.
• Type in Valorant and hit enter
• Select Valorant and download the game.
• Link the Microsoft or PlayStation account to a Riot account by going into the official Valorant website and logging in.
• Click the Account button after logging in and go to the Settings page.
• Find the Account Management tab and select the Connect Accounts options.
• In the Connect Accounts tab, players can connect their PS5 or Xbox accounts to their Riot accounts, so choose the appropriate console and follow the prompts given.

By following these steps, players can play Valorant on their consoles with their linked accounts without any issues.
