League of Legends: Senna Rework – Back to ADC

After several attempts to reframe Senna as a utility-focused support champion, Riot Games is once again shifting her back into the AD carry spotlight. Recent changes in Patch 25.10 signal a pivot that aims to make farming Senna, a once-popular bot lane marksman, viable once more in ranked and competitive play.
The rework comes in response to Senna’s declining playrate and performance as an ADC, where she was largely outclassed by traditional bot lane marksmen. Riot’s changes suggest a renewed effort to strike a balance between her hybrid support/marksman identity without leaning too hard in either direction.
Key Ability Changes
The latest round of adjustments introduces changes that improve Senna’s viability in a farming role while slightly tuning down her healing support output.
Q - Piercing Darkness
The ability’s AP ratio for healing has been reduced from 60% to 50%, slightly weakening her sustain in poke-heavy lanes when building support items. This brings her more in line with damage-focused builds rather than pure healing.
Passive - Absolution
This is where the core of the ADC rework lies. Riot increased the critical strike chance per 20 collected souls from 8% to 10%, which directly buffs her damage scaling when farming. Additionally, the soul drop rate from minions and monsters killed by Senna has gone up from 8.4% to 14%, the highest drop rate ever implemented for her.
Critical Strike Chance per 20 Souls:
Increased from 8% → 10%
Soul Drop Rate from Minions/Monsters Killed by Senna:
Increased from 8.4% → 14%
Q (Piercing Darkness) – Healing AP Ratio:
Reduced from 60% AP → 50% AP

Riot’s Goals with the Rework
According to Riot, this rework is aimed at creating a healthier balance between both Senna playstyles. While her enchanter[1] build remains more popular in recent metas, data shows that it underperforms at higher levels of play compared to damage-focused Senna. Riot also acknowledged that previous changes may have over-corrected, leaving ADC Senna too weak to be competitive.
“Fifth time’s the charm,” Riot joked in their notes, hinting at how frequently Senna has needed identity reworks since her release. This time, they’re focusing on ensuring that players can choose between support or carry roles based on preference—without feeling penalized for either.
Senna’s return to the ADC role could shake up the current bot lane landscape, particularly in poke-heavy or utility-driven matchups. While her early laning phase might still lag behind some hypercarries[2], the increase in soul drop rate allows her to scale faster, which could make her an attractive option in coordinated play.
For players who’ve missed the high-damage crit Senna builds, this patch could be a welcome return. Still, it remains to be seen whether this rework will finally strike the right balance.
