Riot Games confirms Haven's return in Valorant

Riot Games confirms Haven's return in Valorant

Riot’s FPS game Valorant has a handful of maps, with more being introduced all the time. While some maps are liked by fans, others not so much. Haven is a fan-favorite map that has been around for some time now, which is why it was a shocker when it was removed from the competitive map pool.

Well, it seems this is set to change, as Riot has given some information on the upcoming Valorant Episode and competitive map pool change. In addition to knowing that Haven will be returning to the map pool, we also know two of the maps that will be going away for the episode, and one of them will have fans happy.

So, without further ado, here are some of the map changes you can expect in the upcoming Valorant update 8.11 changes.

Haven returns to map pool

As we mentioned above, the beloved map Haven is making a return. With the reputation of being one of the most beloved maps and one of the only ones that have three objectives instead of two, fans have been asking for Haven to make a return ever since it was removed at the start of the map pool change.

Funnily enough, all of the memes and reels asking Riot to add Haven to the game again might have had a pretty big hand in this map’s return. We think this as Breeze, one of the most hated maps of all time, is confirmed to be going away. Another map that’s going away is Split, which is sad as fans generally like that map.

It’s still unknown whether other maps like Pearl and Fracture will be rejoining the map pool, although if two maps are going away then it makes sense that at least one other map will join Haven in entering the map pool. Alternatively, Riot might be waiting for the new map to be announced so they can add that, though there isn’t much information on that yet.

More changes coming to map pools

Intense first-person shooter game scenario with players in urban environment

While coming from unofficial sources, a trusted Valorant leaker gave fans information on something else they can expect to come from the upcoming Valorant update. This information comes from Mike or ValorLeaks, so you know it’s true.

Apparently, the map pools for every mode aside from competitive will be completely open. This means that regardless of whether you’re playing unrated, spike rush, or quick play, you can potentially come across any map in the game.

It’s unknown why Riot went with this, as unrated at least is meant to prepare players for competitive mode. However, it’ll be cool to see every map pop up when playing with friends and loved ones.
