Today, we’re here to list the top five sentinels in Valorant. While this list is largely based on our personal opinion, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have anything to back it up, as we’ll also go through every agent’s defensive abilities and utilities, survivability and sustainability, and impact in the overall game.

So, without any further ado, here are the top five sentinels in Valorant ranked from best to worst. Cypher

Defensive Abilities and Utility: Cypher uses his unique gadgets to control the battlefield. His Trapwire ability helps him tether and reveal enemies, making it tougher for them to sneak through. The Spycam allows him to keep an eye on key areas and tag enemy locations. His Cyber Cage blocks vision and slows enemies down, helping buy valuable time.

Killjoy

Defensive Abilities and Utility: Killjoy’s kit focuses on controlling space and dealing damage. Her Nanoswarm grenades deal significant damage to enemies caught in their radius. The Alarmbot works as a proximity mine, dealing double damage and applying a debuff. Her Turret provides additional firepower and can be used to gather intel.

Survivability and Sustain: Killjoy uses her gadgets to avoid exposure to danger. Her ultimate, Lockdown, helps immobilize enemies, which gives her team an edge in retaking or defending a site. Her ability to put enemies in tough positions adds to her strength. 

Impact: She helps control key areas and disrupt enemy plans. Her gadgets are perfect for securing flanks or setting up traps. She’s useful in both offensive and defensive scenarios.

Defensive Abilities and Utility: Sage specializes in healing and area control. Her Barrier Orb blocks enemy movement and vision. The Slow Orb slows enemies down, while her Healing Orb can heal herself and her teammates. These abilities make Sage an effective defender. 

Survivability and Sustain: Her Healing Orb is a lifesaver, helping her heal herself and her team. Her Ultimate, Resurrection, brings a dead teammate back to life, which helps in clutch situations and provides the number advantage in tight situations.

Impact: Her impact is felt through her healing and sustainability. Whether she’s healing or reviving, she provides stability and security. She can block off areas, create cover, delay enemy pushes, and create openings for her team.

Deadlock

Defensive Abilities and Utility: Deadlock is great at disruption. Her GravNet ability pulls enemies towards the center of a net to deposition them. Her Barrier Mesh blocks enemy movement and creates cover. Her Nano Swarm deploys nanobots that deal damage to anyone caught in the area.

Survivability and Sustain: She controls the battlefield from a distance. Her Nano Swarm buys her team time to reposition by delaying enemy pushes. By controlling the enemy’s pace, she increases her own survivability.

Impact: Deadlock can be used in many ways and brings flexibility, whether she’s securing flanks to setting up traps. She provides consistent utility, keeps the enemy on their toes, and messes with their plans.
