What was the format of the 1win Dota 2 Series Summer?

The 1win Series Dota 2 Summer had a simple and easy-to-follow format. There were eight teams split into two groups of four. These groups then fought against each other in a modified GSL format.

In the group stage, most matches were best-of-one, meaning it took only a single win to proceed ahead. Decider matches were an exception, where those were a best-of-three.

After both groups were done with their matches, the top two teams from each group competed in the playoffs, transitioning to a double-elimination bracket. The bracket gives teams that lost their first match a second chance. Unlike other matches, the finals had a best-of-five series.

What teams participated in the 1win Series Summer?

Here’s a list of every team that is participating in the current 1win Series Summer:

  • Entity: The current reigning 1win Dota 2 Series champion.
  • 1win: The team that is hosting the event itself. Even though its esports division was founded in February 2024, it has made a name for itself in the Dota 2 community.
  • PSG Quest: The last 1win Dota 2 Series, PSG Quest got eliminated, but the Qatari team may make a comeback this time.
  • Nigma Galaxy: Despite failing to qualify for the Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024, Nigma has consistently performed great in the 1win Dota Series.
  • Virtus.pro: Virus made it to the grand finals of the last 1win Dota 2 Series, and it might secure its win by continuing its momentum after achieving victory in PGL Wallachia Season 1.
  • beastcoast: The North American esports organization has competed in multiple tier 1 events.
  • Team Spirit: Team Spirit won the International 2023, so it's got a good shot at winning this year’s 1win Series.
  • Gaimin Gladiators: Even though they were formed in 2022, Gaimin Gladiators has always performed great, like finishing second place at The International 2023.
