His plays are legendary, and even players who haven’t really played League of Legends know about how influential and adored he is. However, some players might have noticed his recent poor performance, and there’s a serious reason for that.

When Faker’s wrist problems occurred
Faker’s wrist problems initially started showing up around May 2023. As the tournament season was in full blast, fans started noticing that Faker wasn’t playing as well as he usually did and wondered if he had some personal or other underlying issues going on.
Well, it seems as though he indeed did have some problems going on, as T1 confirmed on June 5 that the mid-laner would be taking a break from competitive play literally an hour before T1’s match against DRX.
This announcement came a couple of days after Faker revealed in a post-match media conference that he had an arm injury. “My arm condition isn’t that good. My performance wasn’t really good since our match against OK BRION due to the arm issue,” said Faker.
Most of the questions surrounding Faker and his performance arose after T1 lost a game to Nongshim RedForce, one of the LCK's lowest-ranked teams. Fortunately, Faker assured fans that he was pursuing therapy, though he also said he wasn’t able to share more with others at that time.
Does Faker still have his injury?
Almost a year after the initial incident occurred, Faker has since come back to playing with T1 and dominating League of Legends matches. However, some fans claim that Faker isn’t playing as well as he used to back in his prime, suggesting he might still be struggling with his wrist and arm injuries.
Much of the conversation resurfaced thanks to a Reddit post that pointed out how the mid-laner was seen violently shaking his wrists after game 2 with G2 when he got on the stairs and thought the camera wasn't filming him anymore.
This speculation and observation suggest that Faker might be hiding his injury for some reason. This might be because he wants to complete the tournament he’s performing in, especially with Worlds so near. However, fans believe the League of Legends player should take a break from the game until he completely heals, especially since he has been seen missing Champion shots and moves he otherwise should have landed.
